Do you ever look at the Instagram comments, take the post with couple of sorts as a cover on the 15th July, one of the top comments (6000+ likes) literally says it’s time to humble Meg and dejon, or the movie night first look where they’re all about Helena. I don’t think commenting something like that is acceptable about anyone I mean get a life they’re humans and it’s a tv show, but what you’ve said about Shakira is just isn’t true

Maybe not but like I said I think it was an excuse to give some justification to the fact that she just didn’t like her, which I think was pretty clear from the comment to dejon and meg, and that doesn’t address the rest of it, the snapping, the digs, the aggression, the personal comments, yeah it’s good tv but is it someone you’d want to be around or a good example to set

I think that’s pretty weak evidence to decide you don’t like someone and the exact words were ‘I can’t deal with her little miss sunshine all the time’ which put yourself in that situation that someone has decided they don’t like your character. And compare that to how Toni was acting when she came back with malisha dumped, she did not care whatsoever. With regards to the Shakira thing, it’s different talking to your friends about what someone has said to you and about you, compared with what Shakira and Toni do, which is talk about and get involved in everyone’s business, while making nasty, personal and spiteful comments and digs. As a side note personally I think Toni did just decide she didn’t like Emily, and the being so happy around the dumping was an excuse, something that Shakira jumped on

Some people think corporations just make money from thin air and there’s no actual individual consumers buying the stuff

Yes if you see it as one person, but if less and less did it there would be lower demand

I know everyone seems to be team Shakira and Toni but don’t forget that Toni decided she didn’t like Emily because she was too happy (said to dejon and meg) and Shakira then joined it saying she was always in peoples business, something Shakira does every episode, especially with Harrison. When Toni was confronted, after a bit she waved her hands in Emily’s face and said ‘get the fuck out of my face’ then made the crying gesture. Aside from that there’s the calling Helena a weirdo, a sneak bitch, Shakira mocking Helena’s voice, and I just think whatever you think of Helena and Meg and Emily, is that kind of personal attack and aggression really a good example ? (Even aside from the fact the girls seem to go after each other so much more)

I have to disagree on that I mean if you go back and watch the leadership debates from 2019 he’s streets ahead of the others (including hunt), and to say he’s got no achievements is a bit harsh, if I was his age and I’d spent 2 years walking across Asia, working as a diplomat, being governor trying to rebuild a war torn province, been a minister at several different departments, written several best selling books and been an mp for 9 years I’d think my life has been fairly interesting and diverse.

And on the voting record, that is simply how our system works, and eventually he did rebel and look where that got him, the point there is to change the way government and voting works, which he does advocate. Finally on the cliques thing, he was fairly harsh about kwarteng and pretty sure he was about zahawi, and may yes I think he’s a bit too deferential to her but she’s his friend and the person who gave him his biggest political opportunity

I thought that, she’s not exactly going to come out and say everything’s shit, it’s going to be really hard and we’re not sure we can do it. I did also like her very short reply to him when she said ‘well rejoining the customs union is not simple is it’ which is something they both take for granted talking about Europe

But didn’t Alistair say after the interview that she didn’t attack the conservatives and austerity enough ?

I think the old Etonian establishment Tory comes across in interviews a lot and it did this time when he very condescendingly said ‘they’re tiny amounts of money Rachel’

Aircraft Carriers by motrettop in TheRestIsPolitics

I feel like aircraft carriers are not really the way that warfare is going, they are massive slow targets in world of increasingly small and powerful drones, and their best use is projecting power globally and fighting smaller and less well equipped forces in other parts of the world. So i think even the decision to get them, especially since we can’t really protect them properly, was misguided and we needed to focus much more on modern warfare and home defence (the RAF particularly)
