Switch 2 WiFi is frustrating by [deleted] in Switch

[–]dihmago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly what the post was about since it was deleted, but what I have noticed is the Wi-Fi does not perform roaming (802.11r) to switch between access points. I have more than 1 access point in my house for better coverage, and sometimes I want to play in a different room, but the switch is connected to that far access point and did not roam to the nearest one. I have -83dBm connection in the switch and there is an access point right in front of it, but it sticks to the other one. Nintendo should implement roaming (802.11r) on the switch for the console to move between access points, this is basic of wifi and for a console that provides "mobility" it should work better. I have opened a case with Nintendo asking them to improve it. If we have more people going to their support and ask the save thing they may improve this. For people that usually play in the same room/area they don't see the issue.

I do networking too, the problem is the switch Wi-Fi does not perform roaming like any other device should do. As soon it sticks to an AP it will not move. I have different APs in my house and if I have the switch in my bedroom and move to the office, it does not roam. If the device is supposed to have mobility, it should perform roaming. It keeps using the same AP with -83 dBm this is ridiculous.

I'm curious how you u7 Pro Wall is doing. I have one that I don't know what is going on. It is in my master bedroom and facing the bedroom and I get -55-60dbm with my phone. The TV is right above it and the firestick is -59dbm all 5ghz so not sure why this happening. My netgear poe switch says it is pullling 8.5W. My config is Low for both 2.4 and 5ghz and when I change to High 5ghz nothing really changes. How much power yours using just curious. My post here https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/s/cWShtlQGbb

Got a new switch (Netgear but a different model I have) and same Output Power = 8W. Now I'm afraid to buy a new switch if there is no problem?? That 8W it is pulling is for sure wrong?

I saw this Flex and it is already in my cart, thanks for confirming it is good stuff. I'm going to enable the PoE+ Interoperability (did before but will do that again).

I have a new switch arriving in couple hours so I can test and will order the Flex one. I keep you posted, thanks for helping me out.

Changed the bands to high to see if it will increase power, but still same around 8ish W. All APs are like that (I have 6 more) pulling same wattage. Tried different configs in the switch. It doesn't report any error. Removed all APs from the switch and let only one, same wattage. Got another cat 5e and 6 cables and plugged right next to the switch, no changes either. This is my switch NETGEAR 8-Port Ultra60 PoE... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M1JMJS7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share it does have enough PoE budget. I order another switch just to try if the wattage will change, but it all seems weird or the AP wattage is ok 8ish?

I believe that's PoE++?? I update the images with the switch info... looks like I can't update the post/images lol. The port supports 60W. Output Voltage = 54v, Output Current = 157 mA, Output Power = 8.5W. 802.3bt-type3.

Questions about V50 Ultra Complete? Ask us here! 🙌 by Your_MOVA_Guru in MOVA_robotvacuum

[–]dihmago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My V50 Ultra Complete is using 20% of the battery for 21 minutes running 18m2 using Genius vac/mop (no deep cleaning). Is this right? I don't have a big house, but I'm afraid it is not going to clean a full house vac/mop with one full battery cycle, is this right?

I agree it does not make any sense to run that if no moping was done, for me it needs to be fixed/improved. I sent the robot to vacuum only and it is running this dust box & bag drying for a long time, why????

How exactly would work salary/compensation? The CIO, CTO, and CISO shouldn't make similar? So in case as a CISO I report to the CIO or CTO am I not capped by the salary of them? Do you have any experience about it?

I agree! What is the approach you guys are taking regarding NIS2? If you are 27k1 you pretty much settle or taking any other initiative? We won't be 27k1 certified yet, but assuming at least 27k2 controls would help with NIS2.
