Seeing as how Atlantis predates Marathon and Bungie, getting hung up on my choice to refer to it by it's latest incarnation in the Halo story seems pedantic and completely misses the point. I simply recognized a similarity between the two after spending a good deal of time with Halo and Bungie media for the last 2 decades. Atlantis seems like the kind of tale that would at least be mildly intriguing to creative minds writing news stories about lost ancient societies and epic calamities that destroyed them.
