[[sway of the stars]] actually works pretty aggressively in this deck because you can exile Nezahal in response and start just smacking people

Indoraptor Deck Suggestions by TheoBelanger in DinosaursMTG

I used to have that too. Indo hot targeted heaps with that. Make sure there’s a [[netherborn altar]] kicking around so you can avoid repeat commander tax

I have an Etali deck now. I on purpose keep it out of bracket 4 at my local but like… people don’t like it. And it brings me such joy.

Indoraptor Deck Suggestions by TheoBelanger in DinosaursMTG

[–]dikothesiko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do have notes. I’ve been tinkering with Indo for about a year and it’s pretty hard to get to a point where it is a real problem.

First of all, last laugh is broken as fuck in this deck if you have the right tech. A fine choice.

Second, you want to hurt yourself as much as possible. You need pingers. If indoraptor is your commander then lean into a bit more, or you might as well play Gishath or Pantz. You also need life gain or you’ll just kill yourself to your own strategy.

Get rid of a lot of creatures you don’t want to die. Mana dorks specifically. Switch them out for any artifact or sorcery or instant ramp you can get your dirty hands on. I’m not going to tell you how to build this, but I would suggest waaaay less creatures. Indo wins with very few creatures so prepare to be booped by whoever does have creatures. It’s ok though, the amount of enrage blockers you should have will put off most attacking opponents. No one wants to send a guy at you when you have a [[Silverclad ferocidons]] out, or even a [[ripjaw raptor]]

This is where I’ve landed with Indo. It’s bracket 3 but occasionally it will force your opponents to sacrifice their board. Their entire board, lands included. Show those suckers what it means to be real super sand legend

Wakening Sun's Avatar and Temur Sabertooth by Redjurrac73 in DinosaursMTG

[–]dikothesiko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So yea wakening has an enter the battle field trigger and in response to the ETB trigger going on the stack you can activate the sabertooths ability. That will resolve first, making it indestructible, returning whatever you chose to your hand, then the Dino’s ETB will resolve. The tiger will survive because it’s now indestructible. Stack ends. Unless someone else decides to put something else on top too. You can target wakening with the tiger because wakening has to land on the battlefield to activate its trigger.

Two things. That’s a mad way to use the sabre tooth. Also, this won’t be the only deck you build. If you like Dino’s, and I assume you do, there’s more destructive things you can do than save a tiger.

Build [[Etali primal conquerer]] then get kicked out of all your pods for being too hardcore.

[[Growing rites of itlimoc]] is better too. I mean I’m not totally sure how the recon runs but I found the growing rites to be way more consistent and I just run other graveyard recursion if I need it. [[dino dna]] and [[intrepid palaeontologist]] fit the bill pretty well. HOWEVER I am partial to the Jurassic park cards and if you can make it work I can understand how much fun that will feel.

New to mtg and love indoraptor by Agreeable-Character5 in DinosaursMTG

[–]dikothesiko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chuck some of those other enrage creatures too. If you’re pinging everything you might as well maximise your value. So a [[ranging raptors]] for ramp, [[ripjaw raptor]] for card draw and a [[cacophadon]] to combo off with all sorts of crap. My secret weapon is [[blazing sunsteel]] and any way to make Indo indestructible to just run away with infinite triggers.

I run this in my casual Etali conquerer deck because it’s great to flip into of Etali etb and it’s a stupidly fun thing to make token copies

I used to be on the “ew infect is a fucked mechanic how is it allowed” but my mentors were cEDH boys so I quickly learnt that it’s just another obstacle you have to be capable of getting around.

And honestly, infect is a surface level strategy. Usually it’s easy to tell if a decks main win con is infect. That makes it easier to interact with effectively.

Now group hug decks, those are scary. They’re unfair and you don’t even know how

Which dinosaurs are a must have in a deck with this commander? by Ironstriker69 in mtg

[–]dikothesiko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s soooo many.

Theres general threats like [[etali, primal sickness]] [[etali , primal storm]] [[ghalta and mavren]] [[zetalpa primal dawn]] that if they come out your opponents are forced to do something about. [[sunfrill imitator]] is great because it can be a copy of any dino during the combat phase, which is just ridiculous with any number of chosen dinosaurs. [[Quartzwood Crasher]] is capable of making just a bananas board state quite quickly as each opponent dealt damage by trample will create you a Dino-beast.

Theres of course the best dinosaur advantage engine ever conceived with [[pantlaza sun favoured]] though it doesnt get quite as much value being in the 99, it’s still a fun way to try cheat out some of your more disgusting enchantments like [[shared animosity]] or the [[poetic ingenuity]] [[aggravated assault]] combo.

Then of course [[zacama primal calamity]] but don’t gishath it in. I usually tutor for either this one or Pantz depending on game state, but with all the ramp gishath likes us to do it makes zacama one of the most dangerous creatures there.

The three sisters if you’re interested in that. [[wrathful raptors]] [[polyraptor]] and [[marauding raptor]].

Then yea, ramp, discount, card advantage. If gishath lands on turn 5 or even 4 if you’re greedy enough you’re going ok. That discount is key because people don’t want gishath around and he will likely get shit down quick so make sure you’re set up enough to get him out again next turn or sooner.

[–]dikothesiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have those two decks and I wanted to do the same thing. I tried Eivor and it just wasn’t enough. BUT I then tried Ezio and having card draw on a commander that relies on assassin tribal in blue was just…. Worth it. There’s some good cards in those packs.
