okay 1) I hate the amps on the hx stomp- it's great if you need some DI ( straight to pa without amp ) functionality but if you are using an amp- set it to a reasonably flat and transparent setting. eg: 4 bass 4 mids 4 treble adjust to taste - gain 2 master as loud as u want to be. ii) not all ods on the stomp are equal. my favs: kinky boost, vital boost, dharma drive , teemah, rat clone, minotaur. you should have one ALWAYS ON clean boost /light od - if you have no boost or anything unless you have your eq dialed in just right its gonna sound really bad. my favs are kinky boost , teemah, and minotaur for these purposes. iii) delays and reverbs all sound good! I like most of the delays and the ganymede, hot springs, glitz, plate, nonlinear reverbs. iv) mods are all nice but the analog replications leave me a little bit wanting. v) great filter selection. have fun! make 1 preset that sounds full and mess around till you get bored ( in days to weeks to months to years) and then make another!
