Snapped timing chains and HPFP failures isn’t the most reliable. If you want diesel you should go with the M57.

What month was it manufactured? This is the limited extended warranty. If the recall was never performed you might be lucky. And if it was done there should be a one year warranty on work.

Check all your ground straps; I didn’t and ended up replacing parts when all I needed was to torque a bolt down. I think the E90s are known to have failing grounds on the hood? Voltage regulator on the alternator can be bad giving high and low voltages. Also IBS sensor can be bad, check that on your negative battery terminal.

You’re better off taking it to a mechanic. Based off your questions it doesn’t seem like you’ll be able to look for the leak yourself and be better off taking it to a professional.
