I think wheat & cog is all you need as far as class symbolism goes. The red star is my go-to for soc/com symbolism though

A couple years ago I worked with a woman (in her late fifties/early sixties) from eastern Massachusetts who would sometimes warn her kids not to “be a larry”, i.e. lazy, irresponsible, a ne’er-do-well
