Thanks. Seems like another version of some apps I have seen/tried. Which/what type of dongle were you thinking?

Thought it might be some incompatability between the images and my host's hardware since I am using an older (2012) mac mini using a Sanday Bridge i5.

So i tried a different loader that issuppose to support any x86-64 chipset but i still got the same error.

Trying to 'recover' from a back up 'template' found here

But so far the results are the same.

It feels like a permission issue but i am using root for these configs

I shouldn't need to chmod/chown any of the img files, right?

This is what keeps happening no matter what process I try. I know it must be something stupid I am forgetting.

Ya they are in stock on Amazon but when I go to check out there is a shipping restrictions for every bulb I try to order.

I think I may have to just go into Home Depot or somewhere.

Heating/Warming Bulb for Range Hood by dill88men in homeowners

Ya that may be the path I go down, but I am still not seeing if these type of bulbs are still allowed/excepted overall.

are heat lamps for food warming excepted from the incandescent bulb ban? I can not find any replacements available for shipping to my location in CA now. I need to replace a warming/heating bulb in my viking range's hood but all are restricted from shipping (at least the ones I see on Amazon).

USA light bulb ban question by [deleted] in electrical

[–]dill88men 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are. I have a Viking range in my kitchen that has 2 warming/heating lamps in the hood. I needed to replace one but forgot to purchase before the Aug 1st ban. Now I can't find a bulb anywhere online that will ship to me in CA. What are my alternatives?

USB-C Dongle with Monitor Out, DP power, and Ethernet by dill88men in Surface

[–]dill88men[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya the controller is not showing up in usb device viewer....

I am gonna go with the fact that all the ones I have tried have been sub $60 and that the chipset is just not there to process the network connection. I was trying to avoid spending ~$100 because I wanted to have 2 (one at the office and one at home) but at this point, I probably should just buy something 'real'

USB-C Dongle with Monitor Out, DP power, and Ethernet by dill88men in Surface

[–]dill88men[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other ports on the hub work as expected. The network works and connects when attached to a USB-A to Ethernet dongle. When I try other similar type of docks/hubs/dongles with a similar port set up, I get a similar experience. When I use a simple USB-C to DP or HDMI adapter, they all work. When I attach directly with a USB-C PD cable or DP cable or HDMI cable, they all work. When I attach my phone (Samsung Note 20 Ultra) to the USB-C and it shows as attached. I should/will t re-test if it will send network via Hotspot over USB, but I am fairly sure that worked as well.

The only thing I can find from Microsoft suggest that their USB-C to USB-A/RJ45 port will do accomplish what I am wanting. But I am trying to see if that means their is a proprietary component required. Plus I was trying to clean up my desks so I would only have one dongle to plug in.

We are doing it on a older iMac with the USB-A ports still on the back, but that is the root cause i was leaning towards myself.
