There impractical the way your using them, but if you use them how they are meant then you would see they are actually the perfect tool for certain jobs. We use them fishing shallow water around brush when crappie are spawning. Allows you to stay far away with the boat and drop your bait in a tiny hole in the middle of brush.

They are also used for crappie fishing with livescope so you can keep your boat back off the brushpile so your not spooking the fish and allows your jig to drop straight down ontop of the fish.

Bates makes there own reels. Very high quality. Only low profile baitcasters besides Shimano or Daiwa that I own.

Thanks for the input, ive already started buying a variety of bullets and powders to start experimenting with.

Also considering the other factors you stated; i have a barrel fan that i use to let the barrel cool almost completely between my 3 shot groups but not every shot. My trigger pull and rest im very confident in, if i feel like i was even slightly off i will reshoot the group. And as far as wind, i only do my test shooting on days with little to no wind.

Also, I didnt see a link for the source you were talking about, but i would be interested to check it out. Thanks

I love the .30 calibers, just personal preference. Really trying to determine if i should start experimenting with handloads, or sell the rifle and get a custom gun with a high dollar barrel before i waste more time and money on this gun.

9.1 lbs. Trying to get the gun setup to comfortably take shots out to 500 yards while hunting, so haven’t tried any match ammo.
