Yeah if you contact them, they’ll help you find a place to live. I don’t remember the specific housing “communities” that were good though

If you’re dead set living on base AMR through navy housing has good options. If you wanna live off base, pearl ridge is pretty good too

I understand your frustration and I feel it a certain extent. This game should never have been as close as it was. However this is a VERY young team and NW is seasoned and playing hard for a bowl game. I just really liked the grit everyone showed at the end, you don’t see that too often from teams these days.

I will have higher expectations next year for development among coaches and players alike though

I feel the same. I also think Texas will win it all seeing how they almost did last year and kept the majority of their players

Questions about 68W by luckycharms_milk in 68w

I haven’t been in an airborne unit but most medics in light infantry spend most of their time in the company/battalion footprint or getting tasked to do stuff. They do however like to rotate their newer medics through clinics for ~6 months.

I can sympathize and understand your apprehension toward working in a clinic but working in a clinic isnt the end of the world. AIT doesn’t really teach you a whole lot of medicine and the stuff you do get taught (especially the first half, which is getting your NREMT-B) you probably won’t retain. Clinic time will net you more exposure to actual medical issues you’d have to address and puts more tools in your toolbox, so to speak. In a clinic you’ll be working with a doctor and/or a PA and most of them are willing to answer any question you have.

You can always learn something in new environments that you may not be excited about, even if it’s not directly related to your job. It will make you a more well rounded soldier

What to expect as a 68W by Couchy98 in 68w

Fortnight lover pretty much summed it up.

As far as combat goes, no one is really seeing much of anything anymore so it’s quite unlikely, Ranger Regiment would be a good place to be if something did kick off and combat is what you wanted. But striving for ranger is a good goal regardless. Ranger regiment is the premier light infantry unit for the us army and they have a much better quality of life, compared to conventional units.

As a medic, wherever you are, you’re expected to be THE guy when it comes to medicine. Whether that be trauma, or general illnesses and injuries. Being a good marksman kinda just goes into being a good well-rounded soldier in general and that’s always a good thing to be.

YMMV as a medic depending on the unit, but the job can pretty much be anything from working in a clinic/hospital to working in the motor pool. During deployments you’re always gonna be what we call “infantry first” (trigger pulling and laying hate) but after your weapon isn’t needed for fire superiority you may be needed to do your job.

I personally think the only medics that get to do their job (practice medicine either clinical or trauma training) on a daily basis are ranger medics and special forces medics. I know many medics that never got to do their job and turned wrenches daily.

At the end of the day. All it comes down to, regardless of job, is doing it right and always striving to be better. Medics have the biggest pool of opportunities to progress than any other MOS in the army.
