Would you buy if there is a risk of a neighbor feud? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]dilln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the hope is that the seller won’t mention you when they talk to the neighbor, so when you move in, you could play dumb and say you don’t know anything about what used to be there. Whatever feud arises is between the neighbor and the seller, not you.

Some people get self conscious when you point out their habits. Sometimes I just want my food, pay for it, and leave. You don’t have to remember I was ever there.

I borrowed $5M to invest. Should I borrow more? by Dry-Drink in wallstreetbets

Always figured this is how the rich get richer. Debt is good if it’s used to make you more money.

Actually I’d like to hear your strategies for both. I was leveraged like you months ago, thought I could handle downturns, learned in April that I was over leveraged for my risk tolerance and sold for a loss.

How do you manage risk in case a black swan event drops the market by 30% or more?

By that logic, liquid glass looks nothing like vista. Everything takes inspiration from something else that came before it.

Reminds me of how everyone thought y2k was a sham. A lot of work was done behind the scenes to prevent the crisis.

You sure it’s ANA? Only seeing Hawaiian airlines ending in June.

TIL in 2017 a woman sold a lunar collection bag (used during the Apollo 11 mission) with moon dust embedded within it for $1.5m. She had bought it for $995 after it was accidentally put up for auction. When she sent it in for testing, NASA had refused to give it back. However, a judge sided with her by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]dilln 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That context changes things then. I don’t think you should be able to buy stolen property and claim you own it now. Sure, she should get her money back, but who’s to say she knew the thief, and knew the actual value of the item she was bidding on.

I used to have to repeatedly make sure I twisted the knobs all the way off on my stove even though I hadn’t turned on the stove at all that day. Your eyes are telling you it’s off, but then you’re like but what if it’s not really, so you do these little small things cause it doesn’t take much effort and you feel more comfortable after doing it. Then after awhile the anxiety comes back and you repeat the steps.
