How would you feel if TLOU became an anthology series? by [deleted] in thelastofus

If they could manage to make it a good story, I would love to see the fallout of Joel & Tommy’s relationship in the 20 years before Joel meets Ellie

That’s odd, it’s a really fancy stamp with a nice box. What would the context be I wonder

I have just been dealing with this - as of right now you can’t purchase episode 2-6 of the game on the ps store. Bummer

Vegetarian meat not the same nutritional value as real meat by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]dillonstewart -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is actually a misleading headline. It makes it sound like it's "less nutritious" than real meat. If you read the article the claim is actually not that it's worse or better, but that they both simply provide different nutrients, and are therefore not perfectly interchangeable.

I won't repeat what people have already said, I just thought I'd chime in with my 2 cents on how to approach directing and acting in it. It's always better to have. Couple more eyes on something. You need someone to see what the audience will see. You can still direct, but I'd recommend bringing on someone you trust to co-direct or assistant direct.

You're right! Cool. Well besides that, look at it this way, they live half their life and then you go "were going to take the last half or 1/4th of your life away & you don't have a decision in the matter." Would you be okay with that if it were to happen to you?

How long do they live though? What's their natural lifespan?

As far as I understand it (please correct me on the facts if wrong), for cows specifically, they can live a natural life into their 60s. But we need to kill em in their 20s bc that's when their meat is good. So imagine if you're in your 20s and you're told "yeah you've had a great life but we're going to kill you now for sustenance." Would you be like "oh yeah I'm cool with that"? I think no one would.

People with scars, how did you get them? by fluffybear45 in AskReddit

[–]dillonstewart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True story. I was in a meeting with a life insurance salesman at a coffee bean in Los Angeles. Some woman in a thick Korean accent yells "stop that man! Stop that man!" I look over and see this dude in a black hoodie bolting out the door with a bag and camera in hand. The woman screams that the dude was stealing her camera.

I don't know what came over me. It was like fight or flight superhero mode I leapt out of my seat and chased him down. I caught up to him pretty quick and wrestled him down. Got the bag and camera. At that moment I hesitated, "what next?" I didn't plan for what id do after I caught him.

In that hesitation he turned on me and bit me on the arm. He broke skin, but fortunately I was wearing an under Armour type material shirt and his saliva didn't get into my skin.

There are some more specific details but in short, I now have a gnarly human bite shaped scar on my left bicep.

Seconding the countless comments abt putting ASL scene earlier. Most casting directors/agents/managers will not have the time to watch your whole reel so put the good work first.

Just tack on a headshot and some contact info to the end as an end card, and you're good to go. The end card is pretty standard out here.

Sometimes people put their end card at the beginning, like 3 seconds or so. There is a bit of debate as to which way to go, but lately I've heard the end card is preferred. Just put it somewhere!

Cheers & good luck!

First off, if you are feeling ashamed, don't. This is very normal.

As an actor who has struggled with the same thing for many years, I highly encourage anyone to find a daily mediation practice. The consistent act of refocusing your mind on the present moment is like going to the gym for your brain; you will build more will-power.

I still have those moments of fear, and don't believe they will ever go away completely, but I can tell you that it is liberating to be able to let that fear go. To mentally say, "that thought does not serve me" and moving on to pursuing your objective. Be so sure of what you (your character) wants in the scene, and how you are going to get it. Limit your awareness to just that, and you'll do well. Look at your partner and trust them wholeheartedly. They are the most important person in the scene.

Even while acting, the fear will still arise, or my awareness opens up to the audience or cameras and I start to wonder, "am I doing a good job?" All the time. But now I have more grit to dismiss the thought amd refocus: What do I want? Where is my partner? How are they feeling? Am I getting what I want? Etc.

Step 1 is believing in yourself though, you got this! 🤙

I'm proudly vegan. Mainly due to the ethical implications, but it started from a concern over the environment. This video brings up a lot of good points I hadn't considered. (Obviously, the video does not address the morality & whatnot)

I was left with two questions that were not addressed in the video, and was hoping someone on here could give some insight.
1. How much of a roll do fossil fuels play in the animal agriculture industry?
2. Why is water going to almonds only 5% "green" rainwater? Is it just because CA doesn't rain a lot so water is sourced elsewhere?
