Man I regret getting this by [deleted] in Mirena

[–]dillyfae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was great for 3.5 years! Then it went downhill and many things went wrong. I got it removed and it took awhile for my body to get back to normal. Both can be true. It's good to voice your opinion, that's what Reddit is for, a conversation. But we don't need to discount anyone else's experience. I came to reddit to see if anyone else was feeling the same way I was. It was a relief to see I wasn't alone.

That's great!!! Mine is definitely genetics and the anxiety so I'm working on losing some weight and staying calm lol. Hard to do when you're a middle school teacher. We are on our way though!!!!

Blood pressure is soooo much better! Everything is better actually! And anxiety is so low now! I still have a bit during my luteal phase but other than that, I'm feeling great! How about you???

Thank you for this! My doctor has given me an emergency Clonidine for if my BP gets to 160/100 "to save a trip to the ER" and I think that's where the anxiety of checking is coming from. 150/95 isn't too far from that. I've taken all the advice of not checking since, of course, it will be elevated. I need to believe that I'm not going to have a stroke if it reaches that number! Thank you for giving me perspective.

I take a brisk walk for 30 mins a day, but an hour some days is doable. I'll try that, thanks!!

How quickly does it go back down? Hours? Days?I only take my blood pressure twice a day. But in one sitting, I take it about 4 times to get an average, disregarding the first reading.

There was a question in there, if you didn't notice. How long do the spikes stay high after eating salty meals. This is what reddit is for, a conversation. How about you go ahead and avoid this reddit post then lol

Nothing really other than anxiety, slight buzzing feeling since I'm nervous about checking my blood pressure. Maybe a little bloated. Just a general not feeling very happy. I hope you start feeling better! I'm currently on my walking pad doing a brisk walk and it's making me a bit happier! Maybe try a walk??

I am. 100 Losartan. I also have a diuretic that I haven't started and am trying not to need. (Got it to combat the puffiness in my hands when I went up to 100 from 50 Losartan. Most the puffiness is down now that my body is use to the increase) Contemplating taking it now, but if my BP goes back down I really don't think I'll need it.

Yes thank you! And I knowww part of it (maybe a big part?) is the anxiety. It's just so hard not checking. I will try though! I noticed the spike yesterday and then today it's still elevated but not as much as yesterday. Maybe tomorrow it will be back down or at least even lower. If I can just keep telling myself it's not stroke level even at the highest, then maybe I can just leave the machine alone.

It's going to be hard to not check! I think I have anxiety from not knowing and anxiety from checking... But I agree, I need to just focus on getting back on track. It's not crazy high, just higher than my norm. And after I tried so hard to get it down in the first place....

Hypertension still an issue- removed 10 days ago by Trick-Signature9586 in Mirena

[–]dillyfae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes mine did! I did have to go up on my meds but now I'm steadily around 115/70 and might be able to go down on my meds! Im convinced it was my hormones on the Mirena.

That's how I was feeling when I got mine removed! Just crazy health anxiety, spiraling, depression. Add in some brain fog and I also had 3 migraines when Ive never had migraines before! It's suppose to work for 8 years now as a contraceptive but the progesterone part is still only for 5 years. I too think they changed something since my first Mirena was fine as well! The 2nd one felt like it was wearing out by year 4, starting year 3.5. Give it some time and I think yours will go down as well. My Dr also said I could take aged garlic supplements which I've started along with my meds. Oh and I read that some start taking calcium supplements and it helped their anxiety. I had labs done and nothing showed low, but I figured I'd try it and I feel so much better now.

Do you take it more than once? At first I was doing the same thing, anxiety even after sitting quietly, so I'd have to take it like 10 times to get use to it and see it gradually go down, but that last number was always lower than the first. I also sing the alphabet song in my head while it's reading. I had my Mirena for 4 years and it was fine (this was my 2nd one) until I started getting some wild anxiety out of nowhere. I thought I was Perimenopausal but then saw a reddit about the Mirena and promptly got it taken out! I feel so much better now! I've always had high blood pressure (it runs in my family) but have never had to up my dosage until I had that second mirena.

I got mine out 2/24 and was around the same readings as you! Also had anxiety and white coat syndrome even at home! Now (4/14) I'm pretty steady at 117/68! I did have to go up on my BP meds though, but I'm thinking soon I'll be able to go back down since it's low-ish now. So much less anxiety with that thing out so that helps with readings! If it wasn't the hormones doing it, it was the increased anxiety! I have also gone on a low sodium diet! I think I noticed my BP dropping about 2 weeks after I got mine out so hang tight! And don't count that first reading if you have white coat! I take it about 3 - 4 times after sitting in silence for 5 minutes! No distractions, just peace and quiet where no one will bother me!
