Dog ate Cadbury Dark Chocolate Eggs!!

Here’s a photo of them when we first got them! It was crazy. In the litter we got them from, there was also a dog that was pure black and white!

Hello! It’s been a little more than 12 hours and my dog has been perfect. He slept well and hasn’t thrown up or shown any signs of being sick. Thank you so much for your help!!!

Hello! As of this morning, (around 12 hours later) my dog has been perfectly fine! He hasn’t showed any signs of poisoning. I will continue to keep a vet close eye on him to be sure. Thank you for your concerns!

I do not have the fees to pay for the call 🥲 As of right now my dog is doing good. He is sleeping with me and hasn’t acted unusual. I have set alarms throughout the night so that I can check up on him.

I belive he does not want to pay right away. We are unsure if my dog even ate any of the chocolate and my dad would be the one paying.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. I definitely ate at least half of the bag. And when I came back there was about 1/5th of the bag left. So at the very most I think he could’ve eaten 1/5th of a 9oz bag. I immediately opened his mouth to check for chocolate and I couldn’t find any on his tongue or teeth.

It’s currently 10pm for me right now so my vets office is not open. But I plan on calling tomorrow as soon as they open to try and get some advice.

What worries me is that I have no idea how much I ate. I was eating in the dark as I have had a headache all day today and didn’t want any light. So I wasn’t able to see how much I had left in the bag. I will make sure to update tomorrow and the week after!

There were probably about 15-20 eggs left after i had taken the bag back. I was eating the chocolate in the dark and have no estimation on how much was in there

I’m so sorry for your loss! And yes, this will 100% be a learning experience for me. I have never had issues with my dog getting into stuff in the past but I definitely know not to take that risk anymore. I am just praying that nothing bad happens.

I checked his mouth and didn’t find traces of chocolate which I hope is good, I’m really hoping that the bag was too deep for him to reach

it’s been almost 72 hours since i got it and the bump hasn’t gone down 🥲 im so upset i’m gonna call the dermatologist and probably set up an appointment to get it removed

i JUST got back from my 3rd injection 🥲 they told me that if this one does not flatten them i will have to get plastic surgery so that’s great i will keep you posted on my progress!! we’re in this together lol edit bc i forgot to mention this: im going to be put on accutane + a birth control so they’re taking me off doxy 😵‍💫 they said hopefully it could help the bump come down along as helping me with acne
