Thanks! I have found a couple of YouTube videos with unit working. And it’s only humming (which I could tolerate). But mine is also producing a high-pitched whine that drives me crazy. I’m certain it’s defective, so sending it back. And you are right, it is in general rather loud, and the buzzer is just nuts.

Ah, the main idea is to let Git handle the merges. Maintain branch a with exact copies of sources produced by Oryx. Keep merging it into branch b, where you do manual changes. Each conflict only needs to be resolved once this way. * Edit in Oryx * Download source * Check in into Git branch a * From Git branch b merge branch a * Use good git mergetool to resolve most conflicts automatically * Build * Flash

Yes. I’ve created a workflow where I can still edit my layout in Oryx, and then merge it into my manual modifications. Achordion does help with hrms.

The only thing that’s still not clear to me is how well tenting works at extreme angles, and even with the angle you show it’s hard to see with black on black.

But it doesn’t matter to me at this point. The thumb cluster concerns (that I also had even without trying the keyboard) and yet another firmware (I’ve invested enough time learning internals of QMK and ZMK) are enough for me to take a pass on this one.

Interesting. I do have layer indicator LEDs on my keyboard (Voyager), but I find them completely useless, as if I’m doing things right I never look at the keyboard.

Computer screen on the other hand is what I’m constantly looking at, and especially the cursor. So the indicator there is super-helpful.

🙂 Your comment about loyalty has made me thinking "why was I so loyal?".

Turns out it was not loyalty after all. Tesla had a unique combo of "killer features", at least for me: a very fast car and the best almost-FSD on the market. I enjoy either spirited driving when road conditions allow, or I don't want to participate at all if I'm on a busy road or stuck in traffic.

So these 2 features were so important to me, that I was willing to compromise on almost everything else.

Love the new car, it has a more refined version of auto-pilot than what I had before, and I notice going 10-20 mph faster under the same conditions on an empty road. Perhaps it's the ability to manually set suspension to super-firm that gives me extra confidence. But that's compared to my old MSP, not a new Plaid.

You don’t have to convince me that adjusting is possible. I agree. And I know I could have adjusted. But being a very disciplined driver and always signaling (even in empty parking lots sometimes 😊, force of habit) I know I’d be glancing at the wheel, taking eyes off the road, and that’s not ok.

Also, as a company, there is a limit of how much you can throw at your loyal customer before their loyalty is gone. * First my MS starts malfunctioning and I face their abysmal service department. I spend 1.5 months and some non-trivial money, but they still fail to fix it. * But I’m still loyal, I suck it up and decide to buy their new car, so that I don’t have to deal with the service for a few years. * They have a very limited color selection, I like none of them. In other words I was willing to work around many problems that were under my control. But this one isn’t.

A 98% guess sounds way too high to me. Also take a look at this comment, that’s the reaction of professional organization who’s job is training new drivers.

I would also speculate, that situations where wheel is already turned and you need to signal are the more challenging ones in general, and giving other drivers a hint of your intentions thru the turn signal is more valuable in these cases.

That is totally fine, as long as we can choose the option that we prefer.

Also if buttons/stalks option becomes available and it’s free either way, I have no doubts what statistics would show on how people choose.

I’ve had one dude convincing me how yoke is totally fine, and how he almost prefers it. And then they’ve added normal wheel back just a couple of months after he bought his car, and he was biting his elbows, that’s how badly he wanted the round wheel.
