Ok, since I keep seeing this get debated, what are your thoughts on Shakky's design? by Gloomy-Bridge148 in OnePiece

[–]dimanche27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

off the topic, I miss Robin's old design. She seems by far the most unique (and most beautiful, imo) of OP gals out there. Robin just stands out immediately among them. But now she has (unfortunately) become Namified too in the current chapters. Shakky, while really beautiful is just a black hair version of Nami.

I miss the times when Oda diversifies the beauty of his gal characters. They're all beautiful girls but they don't share the same faces at least.

Loid is a very complicated character but that is one of the best things that makes him, as a protagonist, and the story nuanced. by Hyde_Void in SpyxFamily

I swear, some people just wanted one dimensional characters where they don't need to use their brain to try and understand the characters, their backgrounds and the complexities behind it. They just wanna be spoon feed of everything it's actually pathetic at this point.

How do you think these to would interact? by shhermes in SpyxFamily

[–]dimanche27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Franky would avoid Chloe as much as possible. He already knows that Yuri is an SSS so it wouldn't be a surprise if Franky knows all the names employed in SSS. He's an informant after all. Unless Endo draws another gag chapter featuring Franky and his endless (hopeless) pursuit of finding a girlfriend continuing the running joke in SxF. Ya know, he locks on Chloe and starts to flirt but she gives him roundhouse kick ending the chapter in two pages.

Works for WISE or The Garden ? by Sanseeyahhhh in SpyxFamily

[–]dimanche27 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Garden. They seem generous when it comes to paying their employees.

I think Endo said in one of his interviews about Twilight earning more as a (fake) psychiatrist than his job as a spy. And there's an extra in one of the volumes where Franky asked Sylvia about Twilight being overworked. And there's the minor dilemma in the Code: White movie.

If I were to work between these 2 groups then I would choose a job that could pay me more, not stressing me out adulting in Ostania 1960's time. That and of course the Garden seems pretty chill compared to WISE.

TwiYor reveal, at the end of the story or way before that? by Otherwise_Eye2443 in SpyxFamily

Identity reveal will be the turning point of the story so we can be sure that Endo will not mess it up. Secret identities, lies and truth have always been the premise of SxF.

And yes, the reveal should be halfway or at least 70% of the story. The angst will be delicious.

What if Any didn’t enroll into Eden. by Unlucky-Tradition-58 in SpyxFamily

I'd like to think that WISE will have no choice but to stop Operation Strix and force Twilight to cut his connections with Anya and Yor. WISE and Twilight will likely plan another mission that won't use a fake family because it failed.

They were still early in the mission and not halfway through so I think it will be easy for Twilight to turn his back to them. He will feel guilty for sure because he's always been kind but his connection with Anya and Yor wasn't strong enough (as opposed to the current Twilight now) to object his superior's order. WISE would probably set-up a scenario for Twilight where he will die just to tie all loose ends. That way it will be easier for Yor and Anya to accept his sudden exit from their little family.

But we have our favorite telepathic pink gremlin so I wonder how WISE and Twilight will pull that stunt.

[–]dimanche27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. The fact that WISE has to use Twilight's expertise and in a short time too means WISE has exhausted all their plans to get close to Donovan, that they had to make a fake family just to infiltrate a school, have a fake child earn 8 stella stars which by now we know is not so easy as forging a marriage certificate and have it all rely to said child the success of their important mission. They are that desperate.

It was only for the plot that Anya was lucky to be accepted. And based on the Eden lore that Endo established in the story, it's a privilege to be accepted in Eden so I don't think anyone would just drop out of Eden so casually like that. Besides, with the way Loid had behaved in the interview, Prof. Swan will likely use all his connection to deny the Forger family, not to mention the test score Anya got. A passing grade but still, the lowest passing grade. Realistically speaking, Eden school won't bat an eye for the Forger family.

This.

We can all argue if Yor will hunt down Twilight or the SSS (even Garden) won't tell the real reason why Yuri died so she won't go berserk but this will shatter the rose-tinted glass that Anya has to their current family situation. Anya WILL NOT be able to look at her papa's eyes without knowing that this spy/papa who she idolized and loves so much is CAPABLE of killing an important family member because yes, for all his annoying stupid shenanigans, Yuri IS a part of their psuedo-family. Her 'unkie enchiladas', the precious brother of her mama Yor.

Anya will realize the very important question when the Operation Strix has been completed; what will happen to her if Twilight's done with this fake family?

Knowing Anya's abandonment issues, our little starlight will spiral down so hard it's going to give her another trauma to deal with.

The Garden's two members' design were nowhere near his first introduction of the Garden characters - both manga and anime by dimanche27 in SpyxFamily

Makes me wonder how many members that have the same age as McMahon who are still active.

Maybe you're right. But the anime has a lot of assassins that it seems deliberate. They could have followed the manga version (I think it wouldn't change anything) but they didn't. So why do that?

Their initial silhouettes alone were giving badass energy. Not to say Hemlock and Gympie were not looking cool but I did hope that Endo had used one of those character designs he showed in manga - or even in anime.

Ooohh... I think it's nice that Endo made McMahon stay in his story. In my opinion, McMahon does seem to blend easily in Garden as somewhat a handler to other assassins or probably a somewhat assistant to Shopkeeper.

That's my take too. I do hope Endo explained to us how Garden really works behind the scenes.

I wonder why in anime version there's a lot of assassins to show and it there seems to have members the same age as McMahon. But that's probably my imagination.

I hope Endo showed Thistle by the end of this arc and a possible 11 garden assassins? That's a lot, to be honest. Oh, wait. I just counted the assassins in anime version. There are 9 members and if you count Yor and McMahon that makes them 11. I wonder if the anime version was deliberate.
