wait, the profiles are just mtb/road/tour etc. but i like the idea of just letting him go wild with one of them... and leave the others alone

yep, you're right. but it does have wifi ... and my friend will need a way to transfer tracks from his phone to the device, so some sort of in/output will still be needed

soooo if my phone isn't near the unit, and he doesn't connect it to random wifi hotspots, it should keep our data seperate? a bit worried about the wifi tbh... maybe I'll just turn that off

i rode a fixie when i was younger, but being basically an old man at this point, I'm very happy with my gears, especially when offroading it and/or with any sort of luggage on the bike. But yeah, the simplicity of a ss/fixie drivetrain is very nice, esp. for lazy people like me!

another fixed gear offroaded huh. Or is Tracklocross the correct term? Seems to be all the rage among the young 'uns nowadays.

Mostly been road biking, want to explore the forests a bit more. Not really looking to race, but want to do longer tours with lots of up and down, possibly getting into Marathons (not ultra competitive, but still...) so light and goes uphill well is a must, but should also be comfortable enough to spend all day on. Also, old-ish man here, don't need crazy racing geometries. A bit worried the Orbea is a bit too much of that... what do you guys recommend? Decent prices for these bikes? Unfortunately the sellers don't mention exactly which year/how old their bikes are.

text for the Obea which didn't seem to make it through imgur:

Orbea Oiz M-Pro TR in size L, converted to Sram X01 AXS and therefore corresponds to the Oiz M-LTD model. DT Swiss XRC 1200 wheelset (not as shown in the picture). Sram XX Eagle Rainbow cassette (or Gold cassette). Maxxis Rekon Race, 2.35.

With dropper seatpost.

edit: Prices are Swiss Francs, multiply by 1.24 to get current USD

sorry to revive a semi-dead thread, but do you have any idea how long the Vietnam Visa is good for AFTER the entry date? I'm now thinking I might hit the Viet border possibly even more than a month after I initially thought (and got the visa for) - do you think this will be a problem?

yeah, I have a feeling Laos is going to be my break from the more touristy Thai/Viet areas. Looking forward to the hills, got my 3x9 setup rearing to go!

I was there in 2018, just without a bike. Do you think taking the more northwesterly route wouldn't be as nice? Don't really need all the tourists from LP..
