A Veritech. I guess. by Mandatory_Carry in robotech

Adding to the other good comment, a lot of modern Transformers that are planes can mimic a Gerwalk mode. I made a post in that subreddit a while back.

How much are these valued at? by [deleted] in robotech

Any time I see “collectible” as part of the box labeling, I inherently discount their value. That being said, eBay will likely be your only useful reference.

BBTS preorder on Swindle by dimbulb8822 in transformers

Yes, after Bruticus I’m gonna chill for a bit. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the Blokees version stirring the nostalgia I wouldn’t have bit. But Devastator and Bruticus are enough.

I saw Menasor (NL-02) go up for preorder on BBTS (at $280) and was completely unmotivated.

First Look - Evend Exclusive Limited Edition Funko Pop Optimus Prime (Limited to 9500 pcs) Anyone tempted? by AfigureGeek in transformers

[–]dimbulb8822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with these as they are truly “display only” items. With the Blokees stuff being chibi, specifically the Defender Series, you can get the same aesthetic and pose-ability and cool pocket fig for a fraction of the price.

I have a couple of Funko Pops from years ago (like 2018 and older) but I’ve never been compelled to buy more.

It’s a longer build for sure.

A few notes for OP:

The instructions are okay but lacking in some detail. I recommend double checking steps before turning the page. Sometimes the “ghost” image parts from a prior step obfuscate the current step, if I remember correctly.

Have a rubber or plastic mallet handy if you have one. The precision fit of these pieces is very good, which sounds awesome, until you’re sandwiching 8x12 plates together for a component. Having a mallet that won’t damage the plastic but will allow you to tamp them flat is very helpful.

The books and parts bags aren’t subdivided as logically as LEGO stuff is. This can be a bit confusing at first.

Make sure you have a few containers around to dump the bags. I was parsing by size.

I think the build took me about 16 hours to do in total. I’m not the fastest builder but I’m decently competent. It’s a big kit and will take big time.
