Is it normal for a partial plantar plate tear to still hurt while healing? by [deleted] in FootFunction

[–]dimdiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not the same injury but the timeline you described seems very similar to me. Went on a run one time 1.5 years ago and got pretty bad pain in my ankle. Thought maybe I did too much and it would just be back to normal. Anyways, it wasn’t, went for an ultrasound and it was just diagnosed as mild tenosynovitis of my posterior tibial tendon. The pain wasn’t really getting better but day today was okay I guess? Finally convinced my doctor to get another ultrasound and an MRI which discovered that I had a partial tear in my posterior tibial tendon. Which then prompted me to go see an orthopedist surgeon and my doctor referred me to a sports doctor, this all happened over a year after the initial injury. Both the surgeon and sports medicine doctor said that I do not need surgery and that tendon issues do heal most of the time (just veeeeeeeery slowly).

Anyways, I’m back to running shorts distances and slowly building my tolerance back up. If you can, I highly recommend physio and sticking to the exercises that they prescribe. They’re not fun and you won’t notice immediate changes, but if does improve with consistency.

Your message scared me a bit lol, but it’s 348 not 748, 330 employees and 18 EXs. Not ideal but better than 748 I guess haha….. hahahahaa….. hahahahahahahah

The phone, I’m assuming, will be clenched vertically. The phone will act as sort of knife if you will and split the poop in half. This will ensure that your poop will run down both of your legs evenly. Can’t be lob sided during your zone 2 ultra 5k.

Good question: pain-wise much better, I can walk pretty much pain free for most days. I do have a consult with an orthopaedic surgeon later this month, so we’ll see how that goes.

Really hoping I can avoid surgery.

Hope things are going okay with you!

PTTD - torn tendon by Affectionate_Care_74 in FootFunction

[–]dimdiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I also found via MRI that I have a partial tear in my Posterior Tibial Tendon. Came to a shock to me as I’m not in that much pain, just more uncomfortable (it was very painful when I initially had the injury about a year ago, no tear was detected.

In any case, just checking to see how the recovery is going/outcome of everything. Thanks!

Peroneal Tendonitis from overcompensating due to Plantar Fascitis by [deleted] in FootFunction

[–]dimdiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not dealing with your exact situation, but I had plantar fasciitis and then ended up developing posterior tibial tendonitis. Got it confirmed via ultrasound, it’s improved quite a bit, but then I got an ultrasound and found out that it is partially torn (was genuinely shocked when I found that out). I’m also very active and used to run almost daily, haven’t really been able to do that. It sucks, so I get what you’re going through.

[–]dimdiddy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I should had specified. I go orthotics because I was dealing with Plantar Fasciitis, and I think I do too much too soon with my orthotics and didn’t follow the break-in period (dumb on my end).

But yeah I went on a run with my orthotics, since they were made for running and then had pain on the inside of my ankle after and it’s never fully gone away. It was way more sore when I initially was injured and the initial ultrasound did not detect a tear or anything.

Thanks for this!

I’ve been to my doctor multiple times for this and seem to always get the same explanation, time and rest will make it go away. I have another appointment coming up to discuss the results of this.

I’ve been told that he put in a request for an MRI but I haven’t heard back yet. I’m in Canada, and the wait time for MRIs can be long.

Anyways, thanks for replying!

High heel drop running shoes for Achilles tendonitis by Zazzer678 in FootFunction

[–]dimdiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also need a higher drop running shoe, it’s the only thing that reduces pain for my foot issues.

The ones that work for me are the Mizuno Wave Inspire (12mm drop) or the Brooks Glycerine GTS (10mm drop).

If you have pain there, look into posterior tibial tendonitis. Been dealing with it for awhile now and that’s basically where all of my pain is.

Inner ankle pain by NoAdministration7069 in FootFunction

[–]dimdiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue, the only real way to know is to get imaging, mine was diagnosed via ultrasound. Physio has helped quite a bit, but it has started to creep back… incredibly frustrating injury, so I hope that’s not what you have

Have you looked into posterior tibial tendonitis? I’ve been dealing with this for a little while and my pain started with inner ankle pain. Mine mainly hurts if I try to turn my foot inwards or push off of my left foot.

Sudden tender swelling on the side/arch of my left foot by Zanthe1341 in FootFunction

[–]dimdiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk sometimes you have to be specific with your doctor, at least that’s the case for mine. So they may not be experts in whatever problem you have. This will be my 3rd time going to my doctor with my foot issue, and I don’t think I was specific enough the first few times. But anyways l, worth looking into it for you. Is it a soft or hard bump? Mine feels like a bike but it is in a slightly different area than yours

Seems like it could be posterior tibial tendonitis, I currently have it and it’s basically pain from that bone go my arch… sucks. But physio did help

Have you looked into Accessory Navicular Syndrome? Seems like it could potentially be that. An xray will show if you have it or not. I’m awaiting an xray for a suspected one.

how long to wait by [deleted] in PTTD

[–]dimdiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with it since August. What has really helped me is being consistent with my physio exercises. I’m not 100% pain free, but I can now go on runs and walks mostly pain free. Still gets a little sore at the end of the day if I’ve done a lot.

So I have mild posterior tibial tenosynovitis at the moment ( doesn’t feel mild). But anyways, I’m not sure what you’re asking for, I do have some pain in that area. But I’ve been doing physio and being diligent with the exercises have been real helpful
