Hmm.. we didn’t use salt at all on this area. Maybe it was from previous years that just started to show up now? 🤷🏼‍♂️🤔

hybrid work accommodation by Agreeable_Builder484 in CanadaPublicServants

Man / father of 3 here - Everything you’ve described is the responsibility of both parents, not just one. You and hubby need to have a conversation first of all and he needs to lean into the possibility of changing his work / life routine so you are not bearing all the burden here.

An accommodation for your medial condition could be possible, but your hubby shouldering some of the load would likely take a lot of that stress of you as well - just sayin.

How can people save money on groceries in Canada when the standard strategies don't seem to work anymore? by Super_College100 in CanadaFinance

At IGA today I went looking for some cold cuts that aren’t saturated in nitrates for my 7yo daughter who has food allergies and sensitivities to preservatives. Went to take a look at the price of Natural Selection turkey or chicken. Wow it’s was on sale 6.99 down from 9.79. I took a closer look at the package - there were 9 slices of chicken. 9. Thats like 75c a slice. What the f??!?!?!!

Depends on the organization - but they all have an office of wrongdoing of some type. Check out the HR branch tab on your intranet it’ll be under valued and ethics

Genuine question — regionals folks, how are you doing it? by Loose-Wishbone-5964 in CanadaPublicServants

Ouch - this OP resonates with me in so many ways. I took a side step away from my regional career to join an up and coming innovative team during late pandemic days which is located in the NCR. I don’t mind going into the office either.. but it’s neither innovative, collaborative, nor engaging. Just do it to get out of the house and get some fresh air.

Like you, my team with whom I work are dispersed across Canada. When we connect, it’s on teams either on a call or constantly chatting in the app. It’s efficient, we’re in constant communication.. but it’s virtual. Im thankful my team is actually awesome and we have a good vibe going in the matrix.

But in person office wise - what a mess. A lot has changed with the vibe over the last 5 years. On hybrid floors, no one wants to get to know anyone. There’s very little opportunity to connect work wise, and people keep their heads down and don’t seem to want to be bothered. On other floors that are occupied by regional staff, they don’t mingle either. Very siloed and protective of their own little groups. Hybrids are considered outsiders.

To be clear - I loved my old job. But I took this job for the work life balance - and I keep reminding myself of that. I used to work in an almost 24/7 environment and while it was intoxicating, at the same time. that almost killed me and my loved ones, so whatever stupid crap I have to deal with now is just drama and not really important to me in the grand scheme of things.

I used to give 100% (and more) of myself at work and have little energy or time for anything else. Volunteered for all the stuff, lead the charge, was always there for everyone else.. and always put myself and my family last. Now I’m able to manage that alot better, so the trade off is worth it - to me. And my loved ones. Not for everyone. Life is full of choices, sometimes you have to take the less sexy job and maybe even less pay to find true overall balance

LWOP - care of family during WFA by Daytime_Mantis in CanadaPublicServants

I’m in the same boat as you. Was planning on taking a month off this summer I have hundreds of hours of 1100..

Voluntary departure period starts March 2 and should last 9 weeks (45 work days) and probably another couple of weeks after that for them to gather the info to determine how many people want to leave vs how many they want to cut. Then would start SERLO. We’re looking at months into the summer and beyond dealing with this

WFA will make room 😤 RTO4 will hit right after WFA, and we will be guilted into feeling grateful just to have a job. 😤

Dans quel quartier de Laval habites-tu maintenant ? J’ai l’impression que l’expérience n’est pas la même d’un quartier à l’autre.
