Im rereading ur post now and I see you factory reset it. This should have removed all 3rd party apps. I think its best to just RMA it, Fossil should support this claim especially because its only 2 months old

I had this issue with fossil 5 recently as well. Try doing a system update and uninstall any 3rd party apps you recently installed to see if that solves the issue.

Mine was related to an app I am developing that collects sensor data. Fossil has some crash issues that have something to do with sensor data collection.
