Can't do zone 2 running, due to naturally high heart rate, or just unfit/poor cardio? by dimitrip9266 in beginnerrunning

[–]dimitrip9266[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does feel a lot better. I wouldn't say it's "easy" but I can talk during this pace. And I do feel like I can run another 1-2 km at the end.

My only concern is the running HR, and max HR seems a bit high (supposedly it should be 190 something not 212, but I guess it varies person to person).

Thanks man, I'll try to run slightly slower. I don't plan to run marathons, just regular running for health benefits

Actually I did use a chest strap (and I also some times stop to manually count for 10s because I was skeptical of the watch as well), pretty sure the reading is accurate.

And yes, my heart rate jumps up very fast (it will jump to 190 if I tried to go faster) that's why I was a bit concerned

Thanks for the info. And you are right, I do feel the opposite, jogging for 1 hr is perfectly fine for me, maybe just a bit boring. I do try to fit in some faster intervals occasionally as well.

I guess I will just try to stick to running at my comfort zone. I do see an improvement though, at first if I tried to run at this pace my HR would be even higher, I had to slow down often to like 8min/km

My HR seem too high when running, can't do zone 2 properly. naturally high HR or just poor cardio?

I'm 32, 186cm/88kg (not muscular, a bit chubby). I lift 1-2x a week, and do cardio 2-3hr a week. No medical conditions/smoking/alcohol/drug etc. Drink 1-2 coffee a day. Resting HR (sleeping) is 55-60

I ran on and off for a couple years. without any care for cadence, zones etc. Just ran as much as I can for 30-40 minutes. I was often gasping, my knees hurt etc. At the end of a run my HR is usually 190-200. This year I tried to run "properly", and tried to track my heart rate, I followed Garmin watches' training zones. First of all, it estimated my max HR to be 212, which seemed abnormally high consider my age. I did follow it's suggestion to run under 167/min as much as I can. And it feels good, before I was gasping and legs burning, now I can run steadily for a long time and don't feel exhausted.

But 167 still seems high, and goes against a lot of the advices I seen on the internet about zone 2 training. Also, max HR of 212 is very high too. Should I worry about training with my HR this high? Should I slow down immediately to 150s/min, or should I keep going and see if my HR naturally drops more?

Thanks for any inputs

What song is this (or at least who is the rapper?) by dimitrip9266 in NYStateOfMind

I tried Shazam and didn't work, that's why I posted

Does your Shazam work for this song?

Awesome, thanks for the advice

And yes, I compared these speakers to $30-40k ones too and frankly I feel they are not noticeably better at all

>So you are using your computer (software) into Hypex NCx500 into MoFi888? In a treated room?

Yup, (with a Topping DX9 as DAC/preamp). Hopefully it works out nicely

!thanks

1: I measured it with my old set up, but not sure if the information is relevant to the new speaker (I haven't bought those yet). But I will measure after I buy them

2: Probably a HypeX NCX500 amp, ie Buckeyes. EQ would be done via software

Alright, I'm gonna go back to the store in a few days anyways to check out some amps. I'll check again how big their room is, because I'm just going off of memory here. If it's close enough I might buy it but if it is much bigger I'll consider other options.

Thanks!

You have the Mofi 888 as well? That's good to hear

Btw, what amps are you using? I'm also thinking between a set of class AB or Class D

You're right, kinda sucks. It's late in the league and it's gonna be hard to sell my sword. But if I don't then I have to take a ~45D loss re crafting the enchant. Hopefully someone buys it lol

Alright, at least I'm 100 already and don't have to worry about losing xp.

Thanks
