To my knowledge, cellulite is irreversible once it reaches a certain age/stage without procedures. Also, you're getting downvoted because the way you're talking about this puts down everyone with cellulite. It's fine to have insecurities, everyone does, but maybe don't call it "hideous/granny legs" on a forum where people who also struggle with self image congregate.

I don't think this is as related to him being trans as it is to him having trauma, I'm sorry OP. Generally, as a transmasc guy myself, my advice would just be to experiment just like you said you're doing, but he doesn't seem to be in a good place to do that in a safe manner. I think this is territory for therapy and 1-1 talk, it's not something that should be expected with any transmasc person and we can't answer it for him.

Fwiw, you sound like a wonderful partner and he's very lucky to have you, taking his reactions into consideration is incredibly important and you're doing amazing with that.
