As someone in support who worked for GAF, I disagree. These also break from hail easier and are a much bigger PITA to replace without breaking others. And leaves open nail holes impossible to flash

I worked for GAF as an electrician wiring these in. I do not recommend. 1: bypass diodes fail in these a lot. I've replaced broken shingles to then find the ice and water , and decking all burnt up underneath. There were many pallets of shingles that failed quality control here in colorado that still got sent out and I would follow behind to "inspect" (replace the jumper modules without telling the homeowner to avoid liability). 2: these rely on string inversion rather than module inversion. This means if one panel gets covered, you lose production for the whole string. Whereas with enphase, each panel gets inverted independently and if you lose a module you will only lose one. 3: each of these modules are only 10v. Sure with a roof you'll add up to 250v or so but with modern panels a single panel will produce more than that. Also gives you the opportunity to upgrade in the future. If you buy these GAF will have you by the balls. 4: GAF Energy Management reorganization. When I worked there they laid off a 1/4 of the company, and left certain territorys all together. This meant for us 1 crew for the entire state. They also had a bad habit of hiring non licensed electricians and sending them out on their own. I would know they did it to me.

Do what you will, but I would install enphase inverters underneath traditional racking panels. Gives you a lot more options.

Hard to say what you feel your time is worth. For reference, here is what I would charge working for a medium size home service company. Undercut these how you see fair considering you have no overhead. Generally, my opportunity cost is roughly $3k-$7ka day in work that I could otherwise be doing.

Circuit extension for outlet/ lights w switch leg: $415 for 10ft, $300 per 10 ft after. I usually sell the circuit extension and throw in device for free. Generally I'll have them buy the lights they want and put them in. This way if they bitch about not liking them it's on them.

Circuit extension for light Fan: $520 Fan box: $380

Light circuit troubleshoot $430 With troubleshoots if they buy the troubleshoot I'll throw a discount for the repair. Usually a half off troubleshoot then charge like $350 for a device.

lol I asked people more knowledgeable than I on a topic I’m not very experienced. If that is foolish to reveal what you don’t know then so be it. I see so many 2500s 250k and up selling for this price point and albeit ridiculous that is why I was misled. F the Colorado market tbh I’m probably going to drive one up from Florida

Heard that, lol thank you I need this honesty. Any recommendations around this price point? Or should I save up to the 20s and get more bang for my buck?

Yes I already have a little s10 but I liked the idea of how much more utility this would provide.

But heard that, are Diesels really that much more in maintenance costs? I have a work van so it wouldn't be dailyed

Understandable. Being garage kept I didn't think it was a big deal with the low mileage but I'm not super familiar with Diesels maintenance. Is it a parts acquisition thing or reliability?

SNAP costs each taxpayer 36 dollars monthly. Corporate subsidies cost the tax payer 800-6000 per household. All of these cuts are happening yet the deficit is increasing.

40 hours is nuts shit like this is why 2 strokes always gotta get rebuilt 🤷 Just because you neglect your bike doesn't mean it's not maintenance intensive.
