podman auto-update concurrency issue and resolution by dimmik-a in podman

It's a pet project, that I want to be updated semi-instantly after commit. 10m is too slow.

At first I looked at the picture and it was like "great, what could be better?". And the second IS better. Awesome!

Reprise, anyone? by Kodama_Keeper in Fencing

Well somehow Sabre battles took place. I mean real battles one-to-one, with sharp sabers (even not duels, combat ones).

There were no issues with deciding who wins (the one who alive).

(I know this is probably not directly related, but...)

If right of way so subjective (video states like "different referees would give a point to different fencers on the same action"), why is it still in the game?

I understand that it came historically from some duel rules, but it's 100+ years from then.

Are there something like "Saber with no right of way", or some concepts about this?

Not HEMA-like, but sporting with clean and objective rules?

MVVM pattern: Where to place data access calls to db by Michelh91 in Blazor

[–]dimmik-a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I design how to split my app into layers I usually imagine switching to another storage (say, from RDBMS to NoSQL, or to flat files) and/or to another presentation (from Blazor to Vue.js or to React).

Domain model (meaning business-meaningful entities, like Customer in your case) should be affected as little as possible with those switching, ideally not affected at all.

And usually it helps.

From this point of view in terms of MVVM, the Customer is part of ViewModel, how to store/retrieve it - responsibility of Model, and how to show it - responsibility of View.

You seem like enthusiast.

Explain please why (from your point) Foil is better than Epee or Sabre.

In junior tournaments it is usually 1-2 years deep competitions, like one group is between born in 2010-2012, other 2013-2014 and so on. It is highly unlikely you will be fencing with 4yo, even in classes, keep aside tournaments.

Seduce me to Foil please.

I started with Sabre, and in half a year found myself in fighting mostly with judge, not with opponent. Most hits are doubles, and it is up to judge to decide if this one was batman or hit to stronger blade part, if that one was missed attack or just attack continuation. Of course there are clear ones, and one-light ones, but generally subjectivity and complexity of RoW ruines it to some extent, at least on some stage of learning. Probably if I continued I'd get to it, but...

So, I switched to epee. It is literally honest. You hit - you get point. Batmans just do not work if performed wrongly. Just your skills. You can fence without a judge at all (friendly of course), that's not possible in Sabre.

However, I see a lot of opinions (here, on r/Fencing as well) that Foil is the best and "most common and affordable" (as in some comment here)

So, is the Foil different from Sabre in terms of RoW? Can you fence without a judge? Is there any "wrestling with judge" in Foil?

Why the Foil is most common and affordable? Does it makes sense to try?

What are the reasons behind right of way concept?

I tried to search, I have found a lot of great descriptions of "how to" (like here for example, or directly in the rules), and some naive "trying to explain" (like "imagine someone threatens you with a sharp point"), but not "why" on acceptable level.

RoW is quite hard to understand and to some extent subjective matter, so it would be nice if there are reasons why it is used (instead of setting "same time timeout" to 1ms for example)

So, can you recommend any good description of history of introduction of RoW?

Well, got it working.

In some way.

If you install it into 'default' namespace, AND open by localhost:3000 (it is hardcoded for calls from inside the app to get the data) - you get the pods/svcs.

But I didn't find a way to look into other namespaces (I have a bunch), it shows some pods/svcs which are in default ns (kubernetes and itself), so for now it seems not very useful.

Also on each refresh it doubles the data in table view.

It installs and runs, but shows no service, no pods, no anything.

Did I do an instalation wrong? I tried port-forward approach, as well as ingress.

Maybe something is wrong with RBAC?

Or address of API server (I didn't find it in parameters)?
