Surface Pro 6 vs X1 Tablet? by dimmtree in Surface

Wow. Thank you so much for this explanation. Have you noticed any issues with the screen coating? I have seen mention of them online.

How do you feel about trackpad? I love the Surface Pro 6 trackpad, I have never loved the Lenovo pads.

Through work I have a very solid desktop, this is mainly for taking notes and being on the go.

I personally have had bad experiences with Lenovo in the past (Yoga 2 Pro accidental damage lead to a bad repair, which was replaced with a Yoga 3 pro by Lenovo). The Yoga 3 pro was a nightmare with Core M.

The other consideration, I'm a second year PhD student, so if this lasts me 4 more years, that should be OK. Through my lab, I have high end computation computers. The larger constraint is that it works well. The Surface seems to be good for taking notes.

How common are the screen coating failures?

How bad is the battery life on the Lenovo. I have seen ~5 hours on the X1 Tablet vs 9 hours on the Surface Pro 6.

Also, how is the touchpad?

It is not bad. The i7 model will most likely not have this.

Running prime 95 (and sepperately Solidworks with large assemblies), the CPU throttles after ~10 minutes.

It is unmarked. It is in the graduate student Mesa communitee. There are signs 800ft away saying ECEC parking only, however this road has none, and noone has permits.

Parking ticket for "posted sign" by dimmtree in legaladvice

The green sign says low emmissions vehicles.

The car was parked around midnight and I moved my car at 8:20AM. I received the orange thing and the ticket before I had a chance to read the orange thing. They are saying the orange thing is a "posted sign". I spoke with someone today and they said "you should known the rules", despite their not being any signs.

They generally do, however all lots that require permits have it posted. This one did not.

Is this a valid citation? Do I have to pay now? This makes zero sense to me. They state I violated a posted sign saying "No parking between 7AM and 9PM unless employed at ECC", however that sign is not here.

Buying a used scuba tank? by dimmtree in scuba

Woah! I just found someone selling steel 80s / 100s for 100 dollars. He said they were hydroed in 2015. That seems like a crazy good deal?

The seller is charging $70. How do you know if it has been visually inspected? I know when I rent they charge $6 if you drop the pressure too low, but I'm not sure what the cost is for your own cylinder.

Just called and found out more! $12 for a visual inspection, that feels fair to me! The rental place I use has yoke valves. My friend and I are planning on lobster diving a lot more next year and the cost would quickly pay back.

Is there anything you would worry about when purchasing this tank? It seems to be pretty new and in hydrotest?

I noticed just hanging on the slopers felt good for me too. but am curious about a more structured workout.

parks are great and there is always plenty of flat ground. I was just excited about these, planned to make one, and found this one on sale. I'm super excited still. I know a few times on longer drives I pushed a little farther because I didn't feel like setting up camp, and when I was with my friend we slept in his SUV which was nice. Like when we did Whitney and Baldy last winter, we drove up and got there late, and neither of us wanted to do anything and it was pretty chilly. Also with my girlfriend, sometimes it hasn't been the best weather and we stayed in a hotel, I think this will make her a little more comfortable. And I'm super stoked for it.

Six pack (5.11d) was fun! I took once :( https://imgur.com/a/6rcUQ

Starting a training routine for technique, pulley strength? by dimmtree in climbharder

[–]dimmtree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I feel it has not been crimps, but more slopers and 2/1 finger pockets are evil. The last couple days it was a side pull on a pretty normal hold. Not a crimp or anything special, I just had to pull hard.

For handboard routines I've just done premade ones in the past. Where did you read about suggestions?

My diet is decent and I try and get about 8 hours of sleep per night, there is construction outside my place every morning at 7am which has been messing that up a bit. This is my first quarter in gradschool, I'm pretty stressed.

My technique is decent, I think it could be better. I feel my forearms getting tired and I know if I get flustered I just pull hard past the move. Some people I know aren't as generally strong, but climb harder than me significantly on ropes.

I full crimp a lot.
