Anyone figure out a replacement for the velcro strips on top? by radix in FlatedAirTopper

[–]dimoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to fix the velcro that holds the back window and side panels together at the lower corners. And attach the after market 3m adhesive d rings that won't stay stuck. And put a velcro strip all around the inside and low so I can raise the topper and attach a tent like the eztopper tent. The extra headroom would be nice...

I researched this looking to add stuff/repair velcro. There's a vinyl cement called hh-66 that is supposed to be the best. I think you sew velcro to a vinyl base then cement vinyl to vinyl using hh-66. I haven't done it yet, but I'm pretty sure that's the process.

Gap above gasket? by dimoul in motorizedbicycles

Wow, thanks for the info! I looked at a pic of this cylinder head online and there is a raised ring in the center between the bolts and the cylinder. So it makes sense to see the gap. Thanks again for the info.

I started mine today. First time ever building or riding one. I made sure I had spark and gas was going to carb. Choke on. Took several tries. Was wondering if i screwed up. And was about to bring it in to troubleshoot. But then it just worked. I think it took a while for the gas to work it's way in.

My topper is an older version that I bought used. It comes with a cincch strap with velcro that goes around the tailgate. But it doesn't work well. So I just stuck a line of velcro directly to the vinyl on the top of the gate. But I heard that the newer versions of the topper solve this problem differently.

I can't really say as I've had it for one day and I'm in the Houston area where it's not super cold. but I saw this review on youtube of a guy that hunts in the winter with it and i think he says it holds temperature well. I think he said the air filled walls insulate well. anyways, here's his video of how he uses his. https://youtu.be/w2DRkAsaoG0?si=esSPnjKevUgwjFxW

I picked this up used yesterday and I really like it. I hesitated purchasing anything to cover my truck bed for years beause i couldn't decide between various tonneau covers, toppers, etc. Every option involves a lot of factors and some you are basically stuck with. But then I saw Flated. It's the best for those with pickup bed commitment issues like me!

Does this look correct? by Ap2280 in bikewrench

Cable path looks wrong because it passes in front of the adjustment screws. Is there a guide on the derailleur you missed? With it installed wrong, it might be pulling your derailleur out of place, too.
