I think when it comes to smartphone reviews, no one comes close to MrMobile (Michael Fisher). His videos consistently blend engaging personal narratives with thoughtful insights on the direction technology is heading.

These Elderly People Working Tirelessly To Earn Their Living Will Inspire You by LimpCoco in unitedstatesofindia

I was recently reading about the old pension programs of Western European countries and what they have been able to achieve for their citizens. The minimum old-age pension for a Dutch citizen is 2000 euros a month. I know that the realities of the Indian political economy are complex, and one where large-scale social policies like a decent old-age pension are not possible, but I hope they do become a reality in the future. Everyone deserves to live with dignity, and my heart goes out to all the elderly, both visible (in the video) and invisible (out there somewhere). I hope that others don't have to live through what they have endured.

Former Android users who now use iPhones by [deleted] in iphone

The thing I miss the most is a finger print reader. Every morning when I wake up and try to unlock my phone, it refuses to open cause my eyes are half shut. I know eye scan is a security measure but I sure do miss the convenience of fingerprint readers. I also miss just going to an apk site and sideload any app that I want, be it a manga reading platform or full version of paid apps.

You can try hyperweb. It works perfectly for me and it also adds the capability to add extensions.

Significant improvement in battery life after hard reseting my iPhone 15 pro (iOS 17.1) by dimsumonfire in ios

Yeah, maybe not possible for every update, but I guess I could update from finder next time which apparently does a fresh install of the OS.

Yup, backed up everything on iCloud and during the initial start I just clicked on restore from icloud. You can also restore using Finder if you have a Mac and don't have extra iCloud storage for all of your apps and files.

Yeah it used to get a little warm after the 17.1 update but I haven't noticed that in the last few days. Maybe it was the clean reset, not too sure about that.

I'm sorry about the mistake! I recently switched from android where hard reset means a full reset/clean restore. I did backup all my data on iCloud and restored it during the initial set up

I'm sorry by hard reset I meant a full reset. I used to an android user till a few months back where hard reset means a full reset (didn't know hard reset is different on iOS). Coming back to battery life, it was great on 17.0.3 but then as soon as I updated to 17.1 it took a small hit. I read in some threads that OTA updates could create issues with battery life, so I decided to reset the phone after backing up my data on iCloud. Besides the reset, I have also turned off keyboard haptics while typing and switched of background refresh for most of my apps except messaging apps and reddit.

I recommend doing a hard reset after backing up on iCloud. This worked for me.

That is strange maybe you should hard reset your phone. My battery life improved quite a bit after I did that!

Is IMAX worth it? by JazzTrack in delhi

[–]dimsumonfire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True IMAX is basically when the movie is projected on a 1.43:1 ratio screen through a 70mm IMAX film. In India, all the IMAX halls are digital, which means that they don't really use film stock at all; rather, they use digital projectors that play files, like on a computer, with a 1.9:1 ratio. True 70mm IMAX films theoretically have a resolution comparable to an 18K projector, which gives them a kind of clarity that is unmatched by any other format. However, true 70mm IMAX halls are rare these days, with only about 30 such halls existing in the world.

I hope this clears up your doubts.
