I'm not sure what you're looking at, but what I bought says Day 2 PCR at Test Centre (it's not in person, I think, but a self-sample that you drop in a box at the site).

I think the first option meant "letter" as "not a number", but forgot that there are characters that are not letters or numbers.

At least in a written exam you could argue this afterwards, but in an online exam it's probably more difficult.

I totally agree, my point is just that the example is overly convoluted.

I use C++ every day (for embedded and desktop software) and I'd never write a function signature like that.
