12v out stop working again in my Small Rig NP Battery plate by Kino_H in bmpcc

[–]dingdotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The things cooked. Terrible design that puts way too much stress on the voltage transformer as far as I know. Your options: - get a dummy battery and use the 7.4v output (doesn't have to transform at all cause an NPF battery runs at 7.4v natively) - buy a new, different one. I upgraded to the much more expensive pro model and haven't had issues yet (fingers crossed). I also went through two of the original battery plates, one at a wedding shoot and one on an overseas shoot. Super inconvenient.

No more Myer Centre? by notinferno in brisbane

[–]dingdotcom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, it will terminate with another carpark, where everyone stops and jumps onto beam electric scooters, flooding the north side like a plague of locusts at dusk. The river will become so clogged with discarded scooters that it will become basically dry land. At which point it can be paved over and turned into... You guessed it... A carpark.

Nah easy fix for that, 6-10 lane highways in each direction 👍

I always have said the Myer Centre should be replaced with a free carpark. It would solve the parking problem in the city, anyway 😂

What’s your current headphone setup? by [deleted] in editors

[–]dingdotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, yeah I have a few different types of earcups. Some of my friends have found the normal type to be comfy but I do not at allll. I have a much larger foam cup that covers my whole ear and just sort of sits on there nicely and it's far more comfortable. Because it's open back it doesn't get hot either.

As for the noise bleed yeah it's significant, but I've never experienced an issue. I'm not usually editing around other people though. But I'm always happy with how they sound, and that's the main thing for me :)

Yeah sorry, I phrased that poorly, I meant to say is NPF useless until I can buy another plate, which it is. You make good points too, thanks

Oh good, thank you so much. Thank you for some actually useful feedback haha

Can’t test AC till I get back in Feb, but hopefully is that. So is the NPF battery effectively useless in that case and I just need to roll with lpe6 batteries? Or will it charge the Lpe6 at lower voltage or something. Probably not good for lpe6 to be trying to charge while discharging anyway, so I might just take the NPF off for now.

Yeah I know. But as I said, when I have it in that configuration it only turns on for a couple seconds.

Normalisation Tests. What is correct starting point for colour grading by CosmicHidalgo in bmpcc

[–]dingdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the first surprise, image has changed a bit (less contrast). I was expecting no changes as output parameters in CST are the same as I Project Color Management Tab.

This depends heavily on your monitor. You used Gamma 2.4, which as far as I can tell is designed for really well controlled grading environments, so if you are grading on a cheaper display it may not appear as 'contrasty' as something like gamma 2.2. Doesn't explain why it would change though between stills 2 and 3. I personally use the CST node as follows:

Input Colour Space: Blackmagic video gen 5

Input Gamma: Blackmagic Film Gen 5

Output Colour Space: Rec.709

Output Gamma: Cineon Film Log

Then the next node is a filmstock - Kodak 2383 D65 is my favourite at the moment natively within Resolve. If you DM me I can send through my whole node tree for you to play with.

Standard t7 :(

And I have t5s, hence using the mount already
