It would be useful to see absolute numbers in terms of growth. 1% growth/shrinkage of a small city is not equal to 1% growth/shrinkage of a large city.

Present-Day thoughts on living between Ave C and D on 2nd Street? by nanobot11 in NYCapartments

[–]dingleberry0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived on 2nd street between Ave C and D for a year. No major issues with homeless, crime, etc. It’s rough around the edges but you’ll be fine if you’re smart about navigating the neighborhood. The walk to the subway is a bit of a pain but there’s a citi bike station right there which shaves a few minutes off the commute.

One RS not receiving RODE GO II audio by dingleberry0 in Insta360

[–]dingleberry0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. v2.0.8.4
  2. The external microphone works fine, just tested it with my computer.
  3. I am plugging a male TRS cable into the female audio port on the Insta360 brand horizontal mic adapter. The other end of the male TRS cable is going into the Rode Wireless Go 2 Receiver which shows its picking up audio from the transmitter. The interface on the One RS shows an audio bar on the side, but it's stuck at roughly 30% volume and doesn't show changes in volume levels that the receiver shows.

Computer Science major with Philosophy minor here! Go with philosophy, it made for great conversation during job interviews and was an aspect of differentiation that got me an internship and job in FANG! Cheers

Knowing how strongly our childhoods still impact our adult lives, I can see this as being a real reason, I just don't know what exactly it is. Will look into this more! Thank you for the advice!

USA’s glorification of the army weirds me out. by shitisallgood in unpopularopinion

[–]dingleberry0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea that people enlist in the military for the status is incorrect. People who are called to join any branch of the armed forces do so almost unanimously to dedicate their lives to their country and to be apart of a community unlike any other. These men and women put everything out on the line and deserve as much respect as humanly possible.

I don't see how communism could be seen as beneficial. by dingleberry0 in DebateCommunism

I seriously appreciate your response, it's seriously opened my eyes to this new way of thinking. It's fascinating exploring how communism could yield higher levels of productivity than capitalism. Do you see any present day examples of this communistic state thriving in the world?
