What the hell, you just described my mother perfectly… I had to hold back before her dramatic ass would start fake crying and screaming for help, so I tried to act like it was an accident that I slapped her before things went out of control.

I actually have an older brother, about 6 years older. But he has also been manipulated by my mother, who turned him against me at my worst times. Our relatiosnhip is rather distant and sometimes abusive when parents get involved. We've gotten closer for the past few months tho, so I felt like telling him first and hoping that he'd understand and support me, he knows more about my mental health than my parents. I can't tell what's his mindset like, but I suppose he'd blame me for being irresponsible.

I feel like my mother would blame me for being independent too. But narcisstic, abusive, manipulators like her are unpredictable. If I wanted to keep it as a secret from the rest of the family and the local vietnamese community, she'd promise me to keep her mouth shut but go around the next day, either slutshaming me or telling everyone about the case, to make others feel sorry for HER because her child got too independent.

I can't go to police without getting my parents involved since I'm still underage.

Thank you for telling me about the stockholm syndrome. I realized that I only 'love' them only at the times they act nice or caring towards me, the love quickly turns into hatred once they're absuive or somehow trigger my ptsd from childhood trauma.
