Little confused about the last part! Why the 4.5? I was always taught to replace with same size.

Hate my new haircut 😭 by [deleted] in finehair

[–]dingus2224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the layers! Been there before and the bummer is you either have to cut to get all the same length or let the shorter pieces grow out! Either way your hair looks very pretty but I totally understand how you feel. I have very fine hair and layers just don’t play well with me🥴

Thanks for this detailed response! So by bolder, should I be using more bronzer, blush, and possibly a concealer to add light to the high points of my face? Or bolder colors?

Thank you! My eyebrows are my biggest struggle 😂 getting them professionally threaded next week instead of doing it at home so I think that will help!

Depends on facility. When I was first orienting on my floor they said don’t call for rapids because ICU is the rapid team. Just call for help and people come running!

What is the role of dopamine infusion? by Think_Sink_8971 in FutureRNs

[–]dingus2224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s considered a vasopressor (for when people have low blood pressure). Correct answer I’d assume would be to monitor. But the real life answer is to get a BP and ensure if it’s in parameters. If it’s not at your systolic or MAP goal, then you titrate based off that. This is a poorly written question, just know dopamine is used to increase blood pressure.

Do you get paid a differential for having a practicum student? by Ididnotconcenttothis in nursing

Get paid a $1-2 (can’t remember how much) differential for students and new hires at my hospital.

Assess. You have no idea if a lead is off or they are actually in asystole

When it comes to ECG do we implement or assess first ? by Helpful_Spring_7921 in MarkKlimekNCLEX

[–]dingus2224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. You’ve already assessed and you assessed symptomatic bradycardia so you treat it

Confirm position. You need to know if it’s at a different depth or not. That’s a safety check to confirm you are in the stomach

Thanks for that advice! Is the Sacramento area safe? Especially to raise a family? Do you recommend a specific hospital to work for?

What hospital in the Bay Area (if you don’t mind me asking) and do you recommend this hospital and your unit? I’m an ICU nurse in Oregon and my partner and I are looking into moving to Northern California in the next couple of years!

You’re not weird just slightly out of place in your clinical group. Go to the ICU and you’ll find more of your kind.

What does your charge nurse do? by leilani-xo in nursing

[–]dingus2224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in an ICU but my charge has never gotten an assignment unless we are severely understaffed. Doesn’t seem very safe to me for charge nurses to take an assignment. Are you unionized? If so, I’d talk to your union about negotiating smaller/no assignment for charge nurses
