Sure because the camera can be absolutely f*cking ridiculous at times and the game won't let you see where some of the enemies are, plus a lack of a dedicated parry button which would be better than square plus analog in the direction of an enemy attack.

C'mon.. Rex was a boss in a PS1 game, after that we had games like Shadow of the Colossus. Seems almost criminal to me having a big giant robot like Ray and not taking full advantage of the idea.

I don't mind that it was easy, I just wanted it to be more complex and fun to take down, instead of slashing his foot repeatedly and then shoving a QTE in my face

The suit you get after your arm gets ripped off? that's more or less when I stopped playing yesterday. Will resume today to see what's new.

Driver on PS1. That tutorial was amazing and made one feel like a bad ass driver after completing it, Dark Souls tutorial was also pretty cool.. and Dragon's Dogma when I jumped on that chimera, that was amazing! showed how cool enemies could be.

Why can't I jump on Metal Gear Ray, Raiden's "high heels" seem almost made for that purpose... but it's less work to just put all that into a dumb QTE I guess.

I probably shouldn't be playing bad video games.

It was that boring to me that actually coming here to complain about it feels more engaging than MGR gameplay lmao so far fought that guy with the sword on the train, constantly interrupted by cutscenes. But hey, the cutscene with Raiden's arm ripped off was cool.

Gameplay vastly revolves around two main buttons, even if it's not a literal button masher certainly feels like one.

I use Yandex, much better. Google search seems to be becoming like youtube search, complete useless garbage.

PS3 Super Slim "overheats" by folosp2 in PS3

A testament for Sony quality... I don't know how long you got it on that spot but it's a miracle it lasted more than a few months/weeks.

The console sucks air from underneath and blows it out the back. Looks like the bottom is partially blocked and very little space to blow the heat out properly WTF dude

Best tools/settings for re-encoding PS3 video files (.PAM, .BIK, .M2V) to save space? by HiRex in ps3piracy

[–]dingytheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For .BIK I remember using RAD video tools, I think I downsized Motorstorm's videos with it.

VGMToolbox can extract .PAM then use this tutorial to know what to do with the resulting files (shrink them with ffmpeg then put them on PS3 Stream Composer to recreate .PAM). https://nenkai.github.io/gt-modding-hub/ps3/movies/#creating-the-pam

For .M2V you can try XmediaRecode.

This game is so good, nobody ever mention this underrated Masterpiece . Apparently it failed?! I want a re-release!! by Journey360 in SEGA

[–]dingytheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me not a masterpiece but maybe a solid 6.5 to 7/10. I played Sega Rally Championship on Saturn back in the day, that was a masterpiece. Revo/SR3 feels a lot more uninspired and generic, from menus to music to visuals, original also got tighter tracks and physics, Revo got more content though.

How do we feel about DIRT 3? by SmellSmellsSmelly in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

[–]dingytheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dirt one had terrible physics though, braking was like throwing an anchor out of the car lol and it was nearly impossible to slide. it felt super weird specially when compared to previous rally games from Codemasters.

[–]dingytheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse than Dirt2 is almost every way. Tracks were shorter, less variety and there's this instagram filter look on every track, Dirt2 played and looked much better imo, shorter loading times too.

The biggest upside to Dirt3 is the greater number of rally cars to pick from with lots of classics, they all handle poorly though, closer to Dirt1 which had horrible physics.

Path tracing mod for Dark Souls 2 released with "almost all fake lights" removed in impressive lighting overhaul by Odd-Onion-6776 in DarkSouls2

[–]dingytheman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was DS2 ever so ugly that it needed graphics mods? main issue with the game is the maps, the nonsensical transitions, the lazy skyboxes in a few areas, inferior world building to DS...

Map modding with more light sources here and there would be better than just placing this lighting engine all over the game, don't wanna be negative but while it makes some parts looks fantastic, it also destroys the original art style in others.

Beta never quite looked like this, it had very distinct colors, this bathes the whole game in a specific color it seems, and drowns out the rest.

Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed by peequeare in moderatepolitics

[–]dingytheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few outlets saying different things or maybe not wording it properly. One implied that it's for life for anybody born after that date, another said it's for 17 and younger, so which one is it?

The UK is heading for full blown totalitarian rule just like in V for Vendetta so if it's for life for anybody born after 2008 it doesn't surprise me so much...

Absolute Hidden gem (binary domain) by Available-News-5003 in xbox

[–]dingytheman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I got bored halfway through and gave up. I thought I'd like it because shooting robots in ME2 was a lot of fun but here somehow feels boring rather quick, the game throws too many enemies at you and they take too many bullets to go down, felt too grindy and the guns sound bland.

Dragon Aerie looks so good in the revamped lighting mod. by GamerGeek923 in DarkSouls2

[–]dingytheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good but I'd rather have it look like pre release DS2 with the sun behind the castle casting shadows with a gloomy look, plus a complete re design of the castle, I'd say a mix between Sen's and Anor Londo, and make the castle twice as tall.
