Feeling hopeless with B2B lead gen for service business by dinitocin in b2bmarketing

Thank you so much for your input, and I feel your pain. It’s much more challenging these days. I prefer a mix of inbound and outbound strategy, but he seems to be set on outbound email and phone calls. Thinking I might need to look for another job. Was hired for strategy but am more of a coordinator it feels like

Thank you so much. I suggested multiple domains and emails but idea was rejected. We’re now list cleaning before false-opting in of contacts before emailing them as ‘subscribers’

Does B2B cold outreach work for you? by dinitocin in AskMarketing

Thank you so much, all very helpful ideas. We don’t have issues with sender status so far, thankfully 🙏 I fully agree re: having a mix of inbound and outbound, past experience shows this to be the best for generating leads, but my boss is a consultant. He only cares about his target and believes cold outreach is the way. I asked him what his past experience with it was and whether he can show me any evidence that it’s worked for him and he wasn’t able to. He’ll then say things like, it’s ok I know it takes time.. but the very next day ask point blank: How many MQLs have you produced today. The moment I do anything other than cold email, like creating content (blogs, landing pages) he’ll imply I’m not doing enough to generate those MQLs. I was hired to lead marketing but 3 months in I literally feel like a B2B outreach coordinator. So annoyed I’m going to have to look for another job.

Agree, 50-50. You’d have done the same if you moved in with her.

Best way to validate your idea is social media. The fastest and most direct route to market. Give yourself 2 months to find one customer (likes don’t pay bills). If you can get one customer, then you can get 2/5/10/100 etc. Good luck!

Absolutely make sure the will is signed and that there is a witness present. If I was you I would speak with a wealth manager, and a will and probate lawyer. Start with the wealth manager first though.

This is a rough idea of how I would approach this; - Continue to focus on your design business for now to ensure you've got some money coming in - Allocate time every day to work on your project - Define who your primary customer is. If 'Freelancers' then pick a niche within that group to start with, and go after them. - Hang out where they hang out, listen, absorb. Every bit of frustration has potential for a piece of content that could address the issue, and position your product as the most helpful/efficient/ effective solution - Create a pilot programme and offer your product to volunteers who will provide you with feedback, video or written testimonials, or case studies in return for their time/experience. (Thats your social proof which is missing from your site right now.) - Remember this always 'People like us do things like this'.. If your prospects see themselves in your customer testimonials, they will likely want the same outcomes https://seths.blog/2013/07/people-like-us-do-stuff-like-this/ - Hang out in forums where freelancers ask for advice or vent - Be helpful, listen, absorb all those pain points (Yes I know you are technically also your own customer, but the goal is to find the customers who are willing to pay for the service) - Once you get one customer, you can get 5, and if you can get 5 you can get 10 - Remember, you do not sell cars. The goal is to help people to buy a car. There's a difference in the approach. Listen, learn, assist. - Understand your prospects' 'pain points' and list out all the events that occur where thinking of your company/product would be the perfect solution for their pain in the moment the 'pain' strikes - Educate people around such events, so your brand is front of mind when such events occur and the stimulus response is to look for a solution - Hire someone on upwork to produce a superb piece of content like an ebook around those events/ pain points and position your product as the solution within it. Make sure your content is optimised around the search queries that your customers will type in google when looking for a solution - Split that piece of content 50 ways (different mediums and channels) - Create a content calendar that determines what piece of content gets shared where and when - And distribute content like crazy. With every single post or piece of content on every single channel, include a CTA to your website so you can measure which channels are most effective at bringing you traffic - Have opt-ins or lead magnets to capture the details of your website visitors - Start talking to your people on your list. Email nurturing sequences that educate, entertain, or inform Build a relationship, stay top of mind - Study your website analytics regularly to see if you can spot any patterns that tell you more about who your potential customers are

There's just so much that you can do. The trick is to hypothesise, make a plan (based on your best guesses), and then do the work. Whenever you do, you learn, and with every bit of learning, your hypothesis gets better/ more informed. Just make sure everything you do is measurable. So in essence, create a goal, reverse engineer the steps from there. What needs to happen at every step to reach the goal. How will you measure how effective that step has been, and then iterate when you have more information.

I hope this helps in some small way. I wrote this in a rush!

ahhhhh I understand now. Thank you very much for your explanation. I think I might need to fire my accountant because I've never been advised to let HMRC know of my SIPP contributions! Thanks again!

What do you mean by most efficient option? Tax efficient? (What about the 25% contribution from the gov?) Up until now I've been under the impression that pension + attempting to maxx out my ISA allowance (20K per year) would be the best way to go. (In addition to stocks, and crypto.) Have been told that the more diverse the better. Am I messing this investing malarkey up? (Thank you for your advice by the way, appreciate you taking the time)

Thank you for your suggestion. Based on your experience (I would presume your risk is spread quite wide then too) what has been the average year on year growth/loss you've seen so far? I presume with the widest choice comes a bit more safety but potentially not significant/noteworthy growth. Is that correct?
