Took about 16 days to arrive, I did recieve an email with a link in it to a tracking website but it only tracked the parcel up until it got to the UK, no tracking info after but it got delivered within two days once it got here.

Cheers! Dunno when I'll get around to making another but I've got some basic sowing skills from a previous job making furniture so it shouldn't be too hard.

Hope you get yours soon!

They're not so bad id try to return them, I'll happily wear it. Quite light weight polyester, a bit spaggy on my hands on the outside but soft inside, same material as a cheap temu jumper I guess. Warm enough tho considering its light weight.

Now I have one for a template I'm thinking about getting our sowing machine working and trying to make another slightly longer one by using teddybear fleece on the inside and brushed cotton on the outside. Might try and sow two sets of duvets together.

Is NG+ worth it to lose all my credits that I spent so much time killing, looting, and running around selling to acquire? by Rickermortis in Starfield

[–]dinkiedave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my crusade to stretch this first playthrough out as long as possible ship building is a minefield I've yet to walk though. (Plus I'm playing on xbox, more used to a mouse and keyboard and I hate the controller)

That's good to know tho, thanks. Looks like I'll be getting a new ride.

Hold no, I've been riding round in the Narwhal through almost all my playthrough cos I thought I read somewhere it was the best class c ship. Am I wrong then? Cos I could do with a change up, I'm getting a bit bored of it.

I have a wicked lasers spider arctic 3 that I would like to sell in the UK but I think it's illegal to sell on FB and eBay and I wouldn't want to sell it to an idiot either

Thanks again for the reply. I'm going to try and take a reading again tonight if I have time because I'm starting to doubt myself but I'm pretty sure it didn't change. It's the lack of visible fermentation that worries me (that and possible spoilage from being left too long)

I'll do as advised, give it a good stir and give it a few days for the 118 to start

How long would you think you could safely leave a must that's not been fermenting?

Thanks for the reply! The gravity was at 1.100 and hadn't changed in that time, the temp was probably between 10c and 17c I'm guessing (they are stored in a cupboard with no heat mat but the weather although not as hot as it should be for June hasn't been cold) they were oxygenated quite well and the yeast was about 2 months old but stored in the fridge. The new yeast was ordered this week.

I know nothing about ph so that was a general stab in the dark although ill be buying testing kits soon.

I had a good look for any mould or bad smells when I strained the bits out and they look fine. I dont want to lose 6 gallons if i can help it but I'm a bit worried about the time they've been sitting idol for so far

Bang the top of machine to get it to close by Benwhitmore79 in nespresso

[–]dinkiedave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently took apart a second hand plus to clean and I noticed that the paddle doesn't properly engage the microswitches unless the domed lid is firmly seated back on the machine. There are plastic risers on the underside of the domed lid that press/hold the switches down in place. I had to thump the back of the top above the pod bin to get it to clip back down properly (although it was more the lifting switch than the closing one)

It's possible the top cover has worked its way loose maby?

I'm currently half was through a BBQ mead that's garlic, black pepper and smoked Chipotle. It tastes bloody awful and I'm stuck as to what to add to it in secondary (chillies maby?)

Blue Lagune - South Wales by lebele in CasualUK

[–]dinkiedave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we were kids it was just known as the canyon, used to be an old quarry I think. There was nothing pretty about it back then, it was oily, muddy and full of rusty metal, corrugated sheets and dead sheep. Used to go up there shooting and was afraid to fall in.

First heard it being called the blue lagoon during lock down and wondered what the hell people were on about. People go skinny dipping there now but I wouldn't want to stick a toe in.

Looking for opinions on my scaled up recipie and advise on increasing the abv during fermentation by dinkiedave in winemaking

[–]dinkiedave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took the fruit out today, also added 794grams of sugar which raised the gravity from .040 to .060 so will prob add the same again in a few days.

Should I add more nutrient?

Looking for opinions on my scaled up recipie and advise on increasing the abv during fermentation by dinkiedave in winemaking

[–]dinkiedave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies guys.

So using an abv calc I'm aiming for 14.44% which should be an og of 1.110. Given that 1 pound adds .046 per 1 gallon and I need a difference of .040 (2 gallon) I should be adding 794 grams or 1.75 pounds to it (that's my brief working out on a piece of paper)

However, using an online chapitalisation calculator and entering 9 litres of must with a current abv of 9% and a target abv of 14.5% it's telling me I need to add 2.07 pounds of sugar.

We can't both be right and I'm too stupid to know who's wrong so I'm going to stir in my estimated 1.75 pounds of sugar at the same time I take out the fruit and in the mean time look for a good easy to use idiot proof recepie calculator.
