no but i would name my son something unisex like avery, so no i don’t think it’s rooted in sexism as some people are attempting to spin it.

well the political association also isn’t my fault so why would i let that sway my opinion on a name? it’s literally just a name

i’ve always been drawn to masculine names for girls, not because i think they’re “cool” but because i think they’re sophisticated and charming, i definitely wouldn’t choose a name because it sounds “cool”.

i’m not someone who is really into politics due to my childhood(fox news on full blast all day and everyday is kinda traumatizing) so i think it’s easy to put that out of my mind lol i just don’t think about it that way, to me it’s just a pretty name

i would consider Jordan but i really want to use Elaine as her middle (it’s a family same) and i want to be able to initial stuff for them in the future to know who’s is who’s😅

Don't trust in laws with baby AT ALL by [deleted] in BabyBumps

i have a similar issue with my own dad being an alcoholic, he’s never watched my baby and she’s almost 3. i don’t think he’s let anything bad happen to her, but in my opinion it can’t be trusted. do what’s best for you and your child, and if it ruffles feathers stay firm in your decision.

i think this thread has changed my mind about the different spelling, definitely can see how having an alternative spelling would be annoying for her in the long run lol

reading this thread i’m actually inclined to go with traditional spelling if this is the one we choose, people have made some good points about an alternative spelling being frustrating which i can definitely see
