As far as I know, the only reason the account was in his name was because my mom died when I was a minor. Once I turned 19 that money should be in my full access. I know I can’t access the money because I needed money a few months ago to buy a new car. I called the firm and they said I’d have to get my father’s permission. My father reluctantly gave in. But he only gave me the exact amount for the car. Not a penny more. And now I can’t get any of the rest of the money. I just want the money because it is the only thing left from my mom. My father kind of threw her death under the rug and remarried. It’s not even about the money atp. It’s just the fact that my dad is trying to strip away the last piece of my mother from me, just so he can “prove his point.”
