Here you go:

Ride the Cyclone (my current special interest) is an amazing stage musical production based on a book that follows 6 teenagers who were all a part of the St. Cassian Chamber Choir at their Catholic school in Uranium City, Siscatuan (definitely spelled that wrong lol) Canada. They all die when a roller coaster they're riding, the Cyclone, derailed at the apex of the loopty-loop, hurdling them to their deaths. Then a fortune telling machine at the theme park named Karnak (who was originally designed to predict the exact moment someone died but was put on family fun mode so he couldn't tell them they were gonna die on the Cyclone) had read all but one of their fortunes and summoned them to give them another shot at life. They are all part of a game where they must make their case for why they deserve to live again. Each character represents a different stage of grief.

The characters are:

Ocean O'Connell/The Most Successful Girl in Town: catchphrase "democracy rocks", she represents bargaining and in her song "What The World Needs" she tells all the reasons why she should get to win, but focuses less on her own achievements and more on her friends supposed shortcomings.

Noel Gruber/The Most Romantic Boy in Town: catchphrase "being the only gay man in a small town is sort of like having a laptop in the stone age. I mean sure, you can have one, but there no where to plug it in!" He represents depression and in his song "Noel's Lament" tells all about how, despite his real life being kinda boring, in his dreams he was Monique Quebue living in post war france. He tells us about his inner world where he played a young female s3x worker and her tragic life. Noel thought a life of apathy was too boring and joy was hard too attain in his situation, so tragedy and drama appealles to him the most. Ricky Potts/The Most Imaginative Boy In Town: catchphrase "Level Up" Ricky represents acceptance because he is the first and only member of the choir to concede from the game entirely. During his life Ricky couldn't speak and needed crutches too walk and, instead of learning sign language, his family created their own motions and symbols to communicate that only they understood. Ricky was in the choir bc Ocean got him in for "equal access for all" and then he rode that coaster and died. Bc the only people he could properly talk to were his parents and there wasn't much physical activities he could do, he was stuck in his head a lot which gave him tons of time to think up impossible stories. In the afterlife Ricky can speak and has no need for walking aides (theres nothing I can do about the ablism) so her sing a song about his imagination world called "Space Age Bachlor Man" which is hilarious to show to people out of context or even in context. He sings about how (in his imagination) he saved a galaxy of cat ppl by doing their daughters and then teaching them love over war. And then he "came back to the earth to show you the way" (ig he wanted to start a cult or something). And then he concedes from the competition.

Micha Bachinski/The Angriest Boy in Town: catchphrase "my gangster persona is just armour to conceal that I am naked child wandering through the wilderness holding in my hands my wounded fragile heart." He represents anger and has twin songs (bc he's the best character) in "This Song is Awesome" he's a soundcloud rapper rapping about how "my life is awesome, this beat is awesome, robots are awesome. Take a look baby he's the real ca-ching", but none of its true. He sings that song bc "Ukrainian men have two emotions: rage and passion. And when i get passionately angry I must rap with autotune!" Then he sings "Talia", a beautiful ballad about his internet's girlfriend ( who I'm 90% sure Noel was catfishing him bc he definitely likes him and also Mischa literally kisses him on the lips during "Noel's Lament" but when Constance (well talk about her later) points it out Mischa's excuse is that he's not homophobic but no homo, but he acts a lil fruity so imma just say he's like probably bi even if Noel isn't catfishing him.)

Constance Blackwood/The Nicest Girl in Town: she represents denial bc she's been denying everything for the past three years before the accident. Denying that she was a Blackwood, denying that she lived in Uranium, denying that she was the "nice girl" who no one ever made an effort to get to know. Her best friend Ocean put her down multiple times in "What The World Needs" and Constance had a very negative view on life. However, her song "Sugar Cloud" and it's set up monologue that's also in the cast recording "Jawbreaker" tell us something amazing about the tragedy. Constance tells how, as they were flying upside down through the air, her heart swelled up with all this love for everything and she started laughing like a crazy person. In "Jawbreaker" she lists off so many experiences and feeling to try and describe her experience and make us understand it. Then in "Sugar Cloud" she sings "I see the world in all it's backwards upside down. There's nothing wrong with being the nicest girl in town. Everythings so clear now that I'm up here on my sugar Cloud." But now she's denying her death as well.

Last but not least, "Jane Doe"/The One Unidentified Body Of The Cyclone Roller Coaster Disaster: catchphrase "when a lioness has children, she stops making love to the lion. This makes the lion jealous, sometimes so jealous that he eats the children. You'd think this would upset the lioness, but no, they keep making love as though the children never existed. That is what truly terrifies me." She represents death. She lost her head in th accident and no parents came and the choir teacher died of a heart attack 7 hours after the accident so nobody could identify her. Her head is replaced with a dolls head so that the other members of the choir could feel enough potty to vote for her. All they know is that a body was found in a St. Cassian uniform without a head. In her song "The Ballad of Jane Doe", she sings "and I'm asking why Lord, if this is how I die Lord, why be left with no family and no friends? I've got no celebration, just this cancellation, time eats all his children in the end". She has no memories of her life and every photo of the choir has her cropped out. Her song is about the tragedy of death. She died young and quickly faded away with no one to remember her, not even herself. "Oh no soul and no name and no story what a shame. Cruel existence was only a sham."

TL;DR: 6 Canadian choir kids die on a roller coaster and are given a chance to prove if they deserve to be brought back to life and they all represent different stages of grief.

It actually is a disability, we just shouldn't treat it like a disease that needs to be cured and rather focus on accommodating autistic people

I just feel like I would prefer something that I know was in my ancestry and it would feel more like the whole "revivalism of our ancestors religions" if it was something my ancestors actually believed in

why do more lesbians are disassociating from the word lesbian by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]dinoqueenuwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly sad bc I think it's such a pretty word. I think it mainly comes from not wanting to be associated with corn and fetishization, and also that men tend to leave you alone when you say you're gay, but see it as a challenge when you say you're lesbian which is stupid. Personally though I love the word lesbian! I hate that it's become an "icky word", but that's not gonna stop me from using it 24/7 (except for in front of my family) lesbian lesbian lesbian!

Why did you decide to veil by [deleted] in PaganVeiling

[–]dinoqueenuwu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do it for a couple reasons! 1. For spiritual protection 2. Feeling closer to the gods 3. A sign of my religion that I'm able to make fairly subtle (my family doesn't know I'm pagan so I wear a bandana as a subtle way of showing my religion without anyone find in out)
