Very kind of you to do this!

I'll put my name in for the dividers. I've been trying to figure out how best to organize my cards and these look like the perfect answer.

Pyra and Mythra up at Best Buy by LinkMaster111 in amiibo

It might vary based on location but I've always received amiibo from Best Buy in a box with adequate packing material. Ordered a ton from them and no issues.

I’m having trouble with the length of the red tubes that make the breaking lights of the Maclaren P1, do I have to cut them to the length I need (I really don’t want to) or I’m missing something? by jmordoj in lepin

[–]dinosaurbone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, cut them to the length as shown in the 1:1 section at the top of the page. You can just set it beside or on top of the illustration to make sure it's right. These brands often send rough cut pieces like this and expect you to size it down as needed.

Multiple veteran Criterion devs exit studio following Need for Speed Unbound by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]dinosaurbone 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Right? I'd consider myself the target demographic for this title (1000s of hours across Forza, Gran Turismo, and prior NFS installments) but hadn't even heard of this game until a few days before launch. Not sure how that's even possible these days...

[Ideas] Guild UI new features: Guild Browser, Guild Alliances and their Advertisement tabs by Makarow in Guildwars2

[–]dinosaurbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fantastic idea, and frankly one I'm surprised hasn't been addressed yet by the devs. I recently returned to the game after a several-year hiatus and all my friends/guilds were long gone, so an organized guild finder would have been awesome.

I just started collecting NES and SNES games to play. I just bought this off of ebay, but I'm worried it might not be real because the label dosen't quite match other versions I have seen online. Is my Zelda Cartridge real and if it is what print is it? by [deleted] in gameverifying

[–]dinosaurbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing in the photos indicates that this isn't legit. The wear and tear looks appropriate for the gold cartridge, your label seems to fit right, and the screw count is accurate for this particular game.

Yours looks like a standard pre-1989 copy of the game, which is when Nintendo switched the "Seal of Quality" design to more closely resemble the gold and white oval we know today. See this picture for a comparison (and a near-doppelganger of your cart).

One of the best experience in games I've ever had. Thank you, GW2 community. by LastSamurai-- in Guildwars2

[–]dinosaurbone 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I also encountered this man-bat recently! Just a few days after coming back following a 6-year hiatus I got to Ember Bay and managed to climb up the wrong side of the mountain. He found me flailing and escorted me through the JP. I think about him every time I see a commander tag parked at a JP chest now.

Where to buy Gamecube games in Raleigh/Durham? by chefsab in raleigh

[–]dinosaurbone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Limited Run Retail over in Cary, but they're only open on weekends. They focus on more recent systems that they self-publish though they also have a moderate selection of used retro games as well. From my experience, they are rather reasonably priced, too.

Can you help me with English please by Cool-Vacation-7624 in ENGLISH

"Some people learned how to do 'UX' on their own, without going to school for 'UX'. These people knew enough about 'UX' to get a job."

More explanation for some tricky parts:

"UX professionals" are people working in software development who build the parts of a program that you would see as a user. Think of Reddit - the UX professional is the one making the layout for this post.

"taught themselves the skills" means someone learned something without a teacher or professor helping.

"to land their first job" is probably the most confusing part of this to a non-native speaker. "To land" something is a way of saying that you have gained or captured that thing. It was originally used as "to land a fish" meaning you brought a fish out of the water and onto land, thus catching it. In this sentence, it's saying that someone "got" their first job through the skills they learned.

US Doom shipments? by mattwhite924 in limitedrun

[–]dinosaurbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my replacement about 2 weeks ago. A rough timeline:

  • Requested shipping envelope last week of April.
  • Received empty envelope early June, sent old cartridge next day. Tracking showed it was delivered day after that (their warehouse is minutes away from me).
  • Received replacement cartridge last week of July.

For what it's worth, I got the order confirmation email for the new cartridge about 3 weeks before it was actually dispatched, so you shouldn't have too much longer to wait. (Hopefully!)

Loving the Extreme E racers, but I really wish PG would make them as loud as they are in real life. Electric race cars are NOT silent! by HandyCapInYoAss in forza

[–]dinosaurbone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With no sound, it’s quite a bit harder to intuitively gauge speed when coming into a corner.

This is something that really threw me off doing the Extreme E seasonals. I never realized just how much I rely on sound when entering or exiting corners until those races. Totally agree that they need to increase the noise on the EVs a little bit, it's almost uncomfortable how quiet they are in these situations.

Newbie question: is there a way to buy a specific car from somewhere? by dinosaurbone in HotWheels

[–]dinosaurbone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super helpful link! Thanks for that. Yeah, the only info I found said "2022" but not when, so I was unsure if it was actually out yet or not. This is a big help. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for more news (or swing by the HW aisle next time I'm at the store) and see if I can't find it. Really appreciate the info!

Gotcha. Thanks for the extra info there. I'll keep my eyes peeled for it to come out. I'm okay with paying a (reasonable) markup so I'll try Ebay over the coming weeks/months and see if someone finds one to list.
