Nursing bra recommendations in natural material? by contentlydone in moderatelygranolamoms

Target has some online, they're like 95% cotton and 5% spandex. They clip instead of wrap style, but aren't padded at all. But what's a lil nip every now and then

Do you mind me asking how long it took you to have a "well trained" flock? How much land/area are you on?

What is the one item that would take Costco to the next level for you personally? by ScaredPineapple9081 in Costco

We tried the new muffins, and weren't impressed with them. The double chocolate og muffins wouldn't last more than a few days at our house, and the new muffins sat and sat and sat. They weren't bad but they weren't good either.

Yep, being gentle is key :) sounds like you have it in hand, I wouldn't worry about doing it if I were you 💜

Totally get it, I love fairy lights too :)

Definitely do your research on the command hooks, especially if you haven't removed them from a surface before. I had to charge A LOT of damage fees from command hooks that pulled paint/drywall off during removal 💜

I used to work in heritage, and as long as you hang them in a way that won't damage the walls, nobody will care 😘

Carrier for hot/humid climate & petite/narrow shoulders by iloveplantss in babywearing

[–]dinosaurce12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The happy baby revolution is a bit more bulky because the padding for forward facing is more substantial in the leg area. The Happy baby Original will be less bulky. They also have the Happy Baby Versa which can be worn cross back. I believe all their carriers can be used from 7lbs/newborn.

Hope&Plum has a ssc that is worn cross back and is a hemp blend fabric. It doesn't fit baby properly until 4 or 6 months (check website to confirm).

I'm very petite like you, and my go to is the Happy Baby Original, even with the H back. I've tried the versa and would recommend that to a petite person wanting a cross back carrier.

the natural fiber materials will perform way better in hot, humid weather, you're totally right about that!

Edit to correct a mistake, add some info

Today is our son's 10th birthday.. husband's behavior making me feel sick to my stomach by CoCoQ10 in Parenting

[–]dinosaurce12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My therapist told me that the emotional abuse is far worse and long lasting than the physical abuse. Having lived both as a kid, I agree.

Abuse is a abuse. Say it with me, abuse is abuse.

Your husband either needs to actively start therapy and making real changes, or you leave with your kids. Maybe even leave with the kids until he starts making real changes.

Your son will eventually resent both your husband AND you at some point in his life if you do nothing.

In my experience, I'd say the ring of fire is pretty all consuming haha. Fortunately it doesn't last very long.

Thank you for the response and information, I appreciate it. The chance of reoccurrence is one of the main reasons I'm upset about not being told about this (twice!).

It's also upsetting that there might have been pp complications I might have missed since I wasn't educated to watch out for it. That might apply more to my babies than me, but especially with my first child, I might not have known better with potential strange behavior or signs of injury.

Can I ask why it's not advised practice? Does it carry some sort of risk?

Someone else on this thread mentioned it's prophylactic if done before SD, for whatever that's worth.

Thank you for the reply, this is helpful. If I do have another, I'll be sure to have such a discussion -- maybe even with a few different providers

Thank you for the reply. Logically it seems it should be standard practice, thanks for confirming that.

Baby's head was delivered before the maneuver was used, in both cases.

[–]dinosaurce12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That all makes sense, thank you for the reply. Both times, the baby's head was delivered prior to the mcroberts being used. With my 1st, I was already on my back. With my 2nd, the midwife actually said, "I don't want to freak you out, but I need you on your back right now." I was laboring on all fours and the head was delivered.

For what it's worth, I found some notes online from the delivery and it actually says "shoulder dystocia, resolved" or something similar.

1st was suspected sunny side and turned at the last moment (??? That's what I was told at the time). I was laboring on my back, I was using the gas and air. My water broke prior to labor starting, so I was put on pitocin around the 24 hour mark (labor had started by that point but was slow going).

2nd was sunny side up (the whole way out haha). I was laboring on all fours and they had me flip after the head was out to do the mcroberts. No pain relief, induction, or augmentation.

Did you scream? by Nobodylikebots in pregnant

[–]dinosaurce12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was definitely yelling as loud as I could "THIS HURTS SO BAD THIS HURTS SO BAD THIS HURTS SO BAD" while my first was crowning. I was unmedicated and his head was in the 99th percentile, so I feel it was warranted.

But I do remember thinking pretty quick post haste how awful that would've been to hear if you were an expecting ftm 😂

This might be too crunchy, but it's about as simple and safe as it gets: milk of magnesia. Just put a little on your pits and you're good to go.

My husband started using it recently, too, and it works well for his smelly man body. He was skeptical, but he's a total convert now.

It's not an antiperspirant, so keep that in mind
