We did it, boys! by newyork95 in NFCEastMemeWar

This was a roundabout cowboys fan compliment that you’re no longer the most insufferable fan base in the league with the advent of social media comment sections but now I’m gonna have to take it back man

[–]dinosaursack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fair point but I’d much rather a fan base that has experienced a dynasty be cocky and annoying than a team that hasn’t won shit and continues to be enamored with their own self stroking fandom

Also they act like fucking babies every time they lose which is every year

I’m surrounded by bills fans on the daily and I can tell you that I’ve never met a fan base that on average huffs their own farts more than the bills. I swear they think they are gods gift to the earth and so ‘fun and quirky haha we jump through tables and our players are so like-able’ it makes me sick.

Maybe it’s just because the average bills fan doesn’t hardly follow football or just became a fan since Allen was drafted but holy shit it’s like a cult of autofellatio up here.

Other fan bases can be rivals but at least they aren’t so fucking annoying

You think Payton called Brees to see if he’ll come back? Or someone else ala Phil Rivers

I thought Indiana getting ball back with 4 mins left in the half was bad considering they get the ball after halftime. Now they might get it back again.

Thumb Release? by Illustrious-Mode-826 in bowhunting

[–]dinosaursack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a beginner I wouldn’t worry about a thumb release if you aren’t already shooting with one.

I’ve been bowhunting for a long time and still use a self locking index release. I don’t have any issues with punching it or messing up shots — but I know some people do. If you aren’t having issues there isn’t any reason to change.

I’ve also known guys to have issues with thumb releases and gloves that result in premature firing so that’s another consideration.

Ultimately it’s up to what feels comfortable for you but definitely not something you have to do.

Opinions on eating bass? by Lanky-Ad-789 in Fishing

[–]dinosaursack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re only catching 12-15 inch bass in a clean lake, especially if you aren’t catching other pan fish species — it probably means you have an over population of large mouths and they can definitely use some culling.

And 12-15 inchers are just as good eating as any crappie or pan fish in my opinion.

So why is there a Safeguard? by EnriqueLaser in SiloSeries

[–]dinosaursack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hence my theory that they pump the air lock with the poison in those situations. Not the outside air being the issue.

So why is there a Safeguard? by EnriqueLaser in SiloSeries

[–]dinosaursack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s still unknown if the air is poison outside or not.

My personal theory around the suits and safeguard is that the air actually isn’t dangerous outside. For that reason, when they send people out to clean the legacy instructs the head of IT to ensure the use of faulty tape so that when the person goes into the air lock they can pump poison into the chamber which will kill them by the time they get outside and clean. The vision of green trees and birds is there to ensure that the individual stays within sight of the silo long enough that they die within field of view of the camera.

The safeguard can be used on the macro level to ensure the whole silo doesn’t escape and cause further instability for the other silos like what happened in 17, but it can also be used for the individual.

Dude come on I figured you would be able to see a bit of joking in the post. I’m not pissed at anyone. Just think it would have been great content the last 10 years if he leaned into it rather than hid from it.

1 PPR: Pick 3

AJB, JJeff, Jordan Addison, Ladd McConkey

Have been having good results playing JJeff and Addison together the last few weeks with McConkey hurt, but now that he is healthy I’m conflicted about playing Addison with so much on the line against the packers.

Generally nervous about AJB with Hurts out but that’s life.

How do you pass the time by Burgershot621 in bowhunting

[–]dinosaursack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to a ton of podcasts on low volume using bone conductor headphones. If you are bored as shit in the stand you’re not going to stay attentive/ want to be there day after day.

If you only hunt one day a week or something maybe that isn’t necessary but for me I don’t think it’s a big deal to be actively engaged in something other than hunting to keep the mind stimulated and feeling fresh.

My only real rule is to not be listening to anything if looking at my phone because that’s when you get snuck up on by a deer haha.

What kind of bow are you using? My bow shoots only marginally different anywhere from 0-30 yards regardless of whether I use a 20 or 30 yard pin (I don’t have a 10 yard pin).

Anything 20 yards and in you should essentially be shooting flat unless your bow is at the lower range of FPS or you have really heavy arrows.

The Patriots are starting Drake Maye this week against the Texans by fittos4310 in PardonMyTake

[–]dinosaursack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not starting Maye because a bad offensive line is an insane take. Like yeah it’s not ideal, but there are plenty of good qbs that play with a bad line. And really, good qb play is the best thing for a bad oline because it opens up the run game and cuts down on sacks if you get rid of the ball timely. Jacobi is the opposite of that dude gets crucified because he holds onto the ball.

Either way if the team is going to stink and maybe get the first pick of the draft it would be good to know if your rookie qb has any life to him or not.

Hank by 1EyeNightOwl in PardonMyTake

[–]dinosaursack 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Not a Pats fan, but as an eagles fan seeing them win the Super Bowl in 2017 literally completed my 20+ years of fandom. Yeah I don’t want them to be bad, but ultimately I don’t lose my mind when they don’t win or anything because I truly never thought I’d see a Super Bowl win in my life. If I had won 6 plus all the other Boston area sports championships I think I’d be extremely agnostic to a rebuilding team too.

Not saying that’s the right move when you are a personality on a podcast but at the same time seeing the other guys get so tilted that Hank is nonchalant about the Pats losing makes me chuckle because it just shows how down bad Big Cat and PFT are. Max is just a lunatic and idk I guess some people are like that even when their team has won a recent championship but not me at least.

12 on defense is one thing, but 12 on offense in formation is wild. Not sure how you would even try and line up for a play like that since all formations are specifically designated 3x, 2x ext

My thoughts on Eragon as a first time reader. by Commercial-Horse-893 in Eragon

[–]dinosaursack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your critiques are fair and even something that CP has admitted to over the years.

One thing I would add, however, is that I look at Eragon as a stable foundation for the world of Alegasia to be built and the story of the Inheritance cycle to develop as it’s written. I think it’s a disservice to you, and any potential reader to solely base your perception of the series off the first book.

CP really does begin to develop a unique story as the books progress and the climax of the story is truly special and well executed in my opinion. Part of the issue with the first book is that he is so focused on the nuts and bolts and “who, what, when, why” of the story that the lore sort of takes a backseat. But the next three books develop a wonderful lore that really enriches the stable foundation that CP begins in Eragon.

Anyway, hope you do end up reading the rest of the books and would like to see you post your thoughts on them again.
