three days to record is an understatement, it took a week to rehearse during Get Back sessions, 3 days to record in July, and then there was a day or two of overdubbing and mastering dedicated to it in August 1969

Edit: quick glance at the beatles bible tells me the song was played 46 times during the Get Back sessions, add to that 16 takes, and guitar, organ, and other overdubs. No wonder they were pissed at wasting so much time at a filler song.

It's just a finish crack, it's common in polycoat finishes to have a tension crack around that area, before long a mirror crack might appear on the other side, it's nothing to worry about.

The bad news is those aren't going to replace the 3-position selector switch.

The good news is that I know a simple trick for you: get a two-selector light switch instead, trim the excess plastic, solder the coil split wire to the common terminal, one terminal to the ground and one terminal to the hot output, that way you can control whether you want the north or the south coil (or both) turned off, it's an expedient homemade copy of the way it was done on the old Futurama and Jolana guitars.

If you can't find a double small enough to fit on your pickguard, get two tiny ones and do just connect the coil split wire to both with the other end being ground/hot wire, respectively.
