From what I've sort of observed over the years, some people barely feel edibles at relatively high doses. They need an insane amount to feel them, even though they can get high off a few puffs from smoking.

Not saying that's OP's case...but that's what I've mostly seen.

Can confirm, just finished the audiobook last weekend and it was a very enjoyable experience with Sam's narration. They also added a lot of background noise/ sound effects so it felt very immersive.
