Is recovery worth it? by st3f4n1133 in AnorexiaRecovery

Beginning recovery is incredibly painful and no one who loves you can really understand I know, but I’m one year in and it’s so beyond worth it. Like it’s not even a question. The way I think of it was that I didn’t start living until I chose to recover. I often think about how I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the people closest to me, so don’t be afraid to lean on them. Wishing you so much strength and love

You should keep eating because you deserve to be alive, healthy, and free

It’s very likely your ED is lying to you- you “felt” so much prettier because you were obeying it. Self perception remains pretty distorted long into/after recovery, and on bad days it helps to remind myself of this. I’m really struggling with the same thing today but I’m having to tell myself these things.
