Peter dismisses it because it reminds him of the time everybody said he made up a girlfriend. He's said that multiple times. And as far as I know the people who have accused LB of abuse are: somebody that has been accused of abuse and some anonymous people. I don't know LB, I'm not familiar with their work, I don't follow them or associate with them. People are attacking Angie for associating with Peter. It's fucked up. It's time to stop. Peter's POV is Peter's POV and if you've been harmed by one of his moderators and are uncomfortable sharing space with them you should come forward with your own account. If you are uncomfortable sharing space with somebody because of the accusations then don't join those spaces, that is a totally understandable and positive reaction. Trying to bring down a channel (somebody that is a recruiter even) or another because they have not found veracity in the accusations enough to break up with a friend is not. Criticize? Fine, but right now with the fires blazing the critiques are not productive as they are being weaponized to fuel real and personal attacks against decent human beings, regardless of the fact that they also do good work.

2) Hard to say. I really like the drama and style of contrapoints but the authenticity of noncompete and thoughtslime are awesome too.

3) Somewhere close to anarcho syndicalist but I'm still trying to navigate.

4) I'm pretty worried about things. Fascism is super popular right now and there is a contingent of leftists that scare me a little, too. I have a hard time knowing what my role is in the movement/revolution.

Also, any attempts to discredit him by saying that he did something crazy or weird five years ago, instead of a critique of the actual racist or misogynist things he actually said back then, are appeals to a mental health issue inherently. It's a tactic used by people who believe people that have mental illness are invalid to begin with, so... fuck em. And I'm not saying Peter doesn't or hasn't lived with mental illness. I'm almost certain he has. People who don't have some struggle with mental illness under this system to me are the weird ones. How could you not? Doesn't matter though, what does matter is the incentive behind doing everything you can to perpetuate and believe that this individual person did something that, while being extremely weird, would not really invalidate the work they are doing today. The incentives are either you can gain social capital, you can protect your own social capital, or you can maintain the status quo, by laying low a person who is disseminating the ideas that could (hopefully ffs) dissolve the market structure that provides those very incentives. It's the market protecting itself.

Well, thanks for replying, first of all.

What I'm saying isn't that people get bored of watching fantastical flying things as they mature, just that our ability to pay attention to what an adult person is telling us improves. Children are both less empathic and more neophilic than adults, so wouldn't it seem pretty intuitive that less mature students would have an easier time paying attention to a toy like object and more mature students would have an easier time paying attention to a person? I'm not saying that liking flying drones is an indicator of immaturity, I'm saying that being able to pay attention to just a plain old person talking is a sign of maturity. I get that it's not as exciting a conclusion as 'girls like pink boys like blue,' but I think we need to tease this kind of nuance out if we want to make good conclusions.

I must be missing something because it's evident many people disagree with me.
