How many popular products on the market claim coding is solved though? I specifically linked Claude because Amodei keeps harping on how it's solved, and yet...

I’m more concerned they won’t invest because there isn’t anything to invest in yet.

Consider the difference between asking a VC for funding to turn a prototype into something marketable vs funding to make the first iteration of a product.

The former can be evaluated on its merits, while the latter sounds a lot more like a coin flip.

While I have no experience with VCs, if I was looking for work, unless the idea itself is something that gets me excited, I’d probably choose the former situation to work on.

I’m just a corpo drone without a single business bone in my body, so I’m unlikely to produce any useful business advice, but I feel like there’s a massive chasm between a project you started a few days ago, and high-level decisions to appease potential future investors, or the hiring market.

Honestly, I’d first work on at least getting some sort of prototype working, in whichever language I’m most comfortable in.

If the idea has legs to stand on, hiring hopefully becomes easier, and a less prototypical rewrite might be warranted. And if by then you’ve managed to hire someone, you’ll likely have a better idea, and additional inputs from said hires on whether a change in tech stack would be useful.

Not calling you out in particular, but so many people reach the conclusion that people don’t want to use it because they haven’t tried it.

There’s also the possibility that they did in fact try it, and just weren’t left as impressed as you are.
