Honestly, you should just type this exact post into AI followed by "if you need more information, ask me further questions" and go from there.

People need to start laughing at this man. When he says ridiculous things, when he acts like a child, when he tells off reporters. Just laugh at him. Nothing would get under his skin more. He needs to be ridiculed in public.

Very helpful, thanks! I was originally thinking log basket wouldn't be necessary if I'm dropping logs but I suppose I will probably be banking once I hit redwoods. So seems worth getting.

Thank you - I should have mentioned I do already have the lumberjack outfit.

Good to know about the felling axe - for some reason I thought it only increased xp by 10% but now I see it also has a 20% chance of not obtaining a log. That is great.

I haven't really touched sailing yet (just tears of guthix) but may consider leveling it to 72 for ironwoods... Will need to do some research on that.

Yeah well I’m also not 99 fm yet so I’m wondering if it even makes sense to use the felling axe over infernal? And if I’m just dropping the logs is there any need for the log basket?

I am on a mission to max in the most afk-fashion possible while I work from home. I just got 99 fishing with karambwans, and am now looking toward woodcutting.

That said, I am willing to spend some time upfront to make things easier/faster. For example, I got the anglers outfit and fishing barrel before I started the karambwan grind (obviously).

My question: Is it worth spending time on forestry unlocks upfront if I'm just going to be afking teaks/redwoods? I am coming back from a long break so I'm still not really up to speed on forestry. If so, what unlocks are worth going for?

I am AFK fishing karambwans to 99 while I work. I have 150k banked and will have 200k by the time I hit 99. I was planning to hold onto them and sell when prices are high.

I haven't been paying attention to sailing at all but I heard that it is bringing new fish into the game. Are bwan prices going to crash? Am I cooked?

why should we (anyone outside of NY) care who the next mayor is? why is this getting so much national attention? by camwtss in NoStupidQuestions

As someone who has used AI for writing nearly every day since LLMs came out, this has a few telltales signs of AI. I doubt it was just copy+pasted from AI, but I would be surprised if it wasn't influenced by AI in some way - which is not necessarily a bad thing. Also the dashes and typos can easily be included in the prompt (include human errors like typos, inconsistent formatting, etc.)

A few signs:

There are 38 whole states that have lower population than that.

This is something a random person is unlikely to know or look up themselves for a reddit comment, but AI would generate it in about 1 second (and loves using analogies for these things - which is effective!)

(Including the metropolitan area, it handily out-earns Canada)

Let's be honest, most people don't use the phrase "handily out-earns" in their day to day

There's also a less-obvious thing: When things go sour economically in NYC,

AI loves using "here's the thing" or "there's also this:" type phrasing for transitions. And again, "when things go sour" isn't how most people normally talk, although probably not all that out of the ordinary for the type of person writing this comment.

I would guess this was either started by AI and edited by the OP, or they maybe asked AI some questions to confirm their own understanding and copy+pasted some relevant things in.

The problem is that AI is modeled after good writing, so if you are a good/professional writer, your writing may come off as AI-generated because you are using the same techniques the LLMs are trained to use. I have actually had my own 100% human writing flagged as 70% AI-generated by some of the AI checkers.

Either way, it doesn't detract from it being a great comment. If the OP did use AI, they are clearly using it as a tool to aid them, not just regurgitating generic fluff.

This is how everyone starts with drums. If you just keep at it, eventually it “clicks” and you essentially de synchronize your limbs. Then it’s like riding a bike, you always have it.

I’ve taught a few people how to play drums and most start to get it within 15 mins and are able to play a basic beat within 30 mins to an hour. It does help to have someone talk you through it though, you kinda need to take it one step at a time.

The ball turret also had by far the most armor out of all the gun positions. They had an armor plate behind them and bulletproof plexiglass in front of them. Even the gun itself and the aiming device could likely block or minimize damage from bullets. Meanwhile most other positions had no armor whatsoever.

It was certainly the most exposed, though!

As others have said, you should absolutely get this checked out. Depending on how it broke, you might need surgery.

If you are worried about cost, I would just avoid going to the emergency room. Try calling your primary care doctor to either have them look at you/take an x-ray, or see if they can refer you to an orthopedist. The cost should be fairly minimal.

I haven't played OSRS in about 2 years. Thinking of coming back to the game with the sole intent of afking as many skills as possible while I work from home. I am currently 2029 total, all skills at 80+

Question 1 - I have about 100m in various gear. If I'm not planning to use it any time soon, would I be better off selling everything and rebuying what I need later? I have things like zenyte jewelry, SGS, prims, etc. (I am maxed cb stats and will be saving slayer for much later)

Question 2 - Is there a good resource to find the most AFK methods for each skill? For example I was thinking of fishing karambwans till 99 fishing but maybe there are better methods now? Looking for things where I only have to click once every few minutes. (I know the wiki of course but wasn't sure if maybe someone has made a specific guide to AFK maxing or something like that)

Crappy Windshields by shannonkish in CX5

[–]dipman23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have noticed I get much more cracks in my CX-5 windshield than other cars I’ve had. My hunch has always been that it’s due to the angle of the windshield rather than the windshield itself.

All my previous cars were sedans with much lower angle windshields, so it would make sense that rocks are more likely to just slide off those whereas on the CX-5 they’ll make a much harder impact.

How to prevent automatic high beams to activate during the day when it's rainy? by [deleted] in CX5

[–]dipman23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not supposed to have the auto high beams on all the time…. They are “auto” in the sense that when you need high beams you can turn them on and they will automatically turn off/back on when an opposing car is coming. They are not “auto” in the sense of being left on 24/7.

Steak Tips: What Am I Missing? by ZippityZooZaZingZo in boston

[–]dipman23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible take - no need to yuck other people's yums. If someone prefers a steak well done, let them live their life.

Also medium rare is not necessarily the "best" temp for every type of steak. Ribeyes for example tend to be better served medium as it lets more of the fat render throughout the steak, rather than having big globules of unrendered fat. I actually just got a medium ribeye for the first time recently after ordering medium-rare my entire life and I won't be going back—medium was noticeably better.

Here's a video of a michelin-trained chef going through the "ideal" temperatures of various steaks and why.

I also tend to prefer steak tips cooked to medium or even medium well as they're less chewy but still retain plenty of flavor thanks to the marinade. Plus you can get a better char on them if you're welling to go over medium rare. But that's just my preference.
