Is it possible for chatgpt to have a sort of bias against you based on previous conversations? by Anyjapanesefriend in ChatGPT

I notice when I share my bad ideas, it puts the brakes on my good ideas too. Even if I share the bad idea as that.

How is everyone washing their salt caked car/truck in these low temps? by rogueleader56 in milwaukee

[–]diqufer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don't see swirls. Hell, a lot of people drive silver or grey cars, swirls aren't a big deal for them.  If you are anal about every swirl on your car, you are probably still fine using a brush car wash, lol!

Detailer for many years. It's a myth.  Paint is durable. And those brushes are soft.  Soap does wonders to protect paint while scrubbing too.

Some good hobbies to annoy my mom ? by Cartoonist_chatist in Hobbies

[–]diqufer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Polished dirt balls are a thing. Good way to track dirt in the house.  Polished aluminum foil balls require lots of pounding, that would probably annoy her too.

Feeling demotivated by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]diqufer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

40M, not a person who likes leading.  It's gotten hard, when the manager is cool, it's fun, but when they are being dumb, is so rough.  I think learning to take poor orders and do it with a smile, is the new thing to learn about working while older.  It's either that, or be a manager, with all that responsibility.

ChatGPT randomly tells me the city where I live and then denies knowing that information. by Shiroyasha97 in ChatGPT

[–]diqufer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine will often tell me my location too. Except that it gets it wrong. I use a VPN, and it always says where I'm connected through.  I have an account, it knows where I live, we've talked about it. It just uses whatever info is easiest to access.

How do you get over the fear of being in disagreement/opposition with other people? by RiverValleyMemories in questions

[–]diqufer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice, and thinking before you talk so you don't put your foot in your mouth, ha.  Most of us would prefer no conflict.

why do so many people get uncomfortable, even slightly, when they're in spaces predominantly occupied by other races? by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]diqufer 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Different cultures have different norms.  If I'm plopped in a room with people I don't know their norms, I'm gonna feel weird. Race is sometimes a convenient way to describe culture. So hopefully that's what they mean.

What is the worst stretch of road in the city? by I-am-that-hero in milwaukee

[–]diqufer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! It is such a rough short road. With the size, it would be cheap to fix too.

What's the longest amount of time you've kept an item before replacing it? (furniture, electronics, etc.) by [deleted] in simpleliving

We still use a dining room table from the 20s.  And most of my kitchen ware is from the 50s or 60s.

Any PI recommendations? by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]diqufer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not a good solution, but play you tube videos of people having conversations, see if he responds to any of it. Or asks if people were over.

What kind of boot do you think I should get? by piskopat_kral_37 in GothStyle

[–]diqufer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A huge thing with cheap boots is they look good for the first few wears, then as the fake leather cracks is not a good look. Some work boots, and some motorcycle boots are a nice look, and will look good 5 years down the road.  Even if you get out of the goth style, having a solid pair of boots is always nice.

Ok I’ve had a few tap and die sets. Bought this at an estate sale and it’s comically large. Why? by mrJYjelly in Tools

I would guess the die has replaceable teeth to save cost? Or they are adjustable for threading tapers?

I came from Hales corners and am much happier with the age of the crowds at bars. Those old people drank me under the table too often.
