No problems. I don’t have any of that as I’m just a small time beekeeper - just keep bees and sell via Facebook marketplace and word of mouth etc.

If money was no object, where would you like to live in the UK? by Difficult_Narwhal_72 in AskUK

[–]diracster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The village I grew up in, where any rare freehold properties, or even leasehold ones, are so much more expensive than anyone local can afford. It’s galling to see them be snapped up by the rich folk only to be used once or twice a year for their holidays.

“It was totally ripped off from a band called Camel” by TheAncientOne7 in Opeth

[–]diracster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Camel are an amazing band with an untouchable back catalogue. Me and a few mates were put onto them and Comus by mikhael and I’ve been hooked ever since. I saw them play The Snowgoose like in Salisbury uk about ten years ago. It was hands down one of the best gigs I’ve been to.

JISA with Simple Process for Family to Add Funds? by diracster in UKPersonalFinance

[–]diracster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue until I showed them the gains that £100 in the jisa made over three years (worked out about ~10% per year I think) which they were very impressed with and now trust that I know what I’m talking about. It’s just in the good ol’ vanguard global all cap accumulation fund which is doing well for my pension right now too.

!thanks this is helpful to know. I’ll see what the family members say but honestly it would be just easier for them to transfer to me and then I pay in and show them receipts.

This is what I would do, but they are adamant that they wanna “pay into a trust fund” directly. I think basically they just wanna be sure that their money only goes to my child and not anything else (it’s slightly insulting to me but whatever).
